Aaron Brooks played just 21 minutes in Sunday's loss to Denver -- he scored nine points on 3-of-10 shooting, with two assists and two turnovers. Brooks hit two 3-pointers to somewhat salvage his fantasy line, but in reality he and Sacramento's starters were abysmal, as reflected in his game-worst +/- rating of -27. Isaiah Thomas (20 points in 27 minutes) is starting to heat up and Keith Smart is beginning to slacken the reins despite his stated fondness for Brooks, which darkens the veteran's already gloomy outlook.

Brooks gave up more points on defense than he scored, as usual, and Isaiah Thomas (26 points) nearly brought the team back from 24 points down to make it a game tonight. He would probably perform better on a less dysfunctional team devoid of scoring, but in Sacramento he is a total mess.

Brooks was a sieve on defense and his three turnovers negated any good he did tonight, and as floor general he constantly ran the shot clock down and put the team into bad situations. Of course, Keith Smart glowingly talked about Brooks as being the only guy to get into the paint, even though most of Brooks' trips into the paint resulted in a bad shot or a turnover. This game had a garbage-time element to it, but Brooks has been putting up some very low-end numbers so keep an eye on him in deeper formats.

Aaron Brooks scored 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting (including a three) with four rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 19 minutes on Friday against the Magic. Jameer Nelson targeted Brooks relentlessly when he was on the floor and blew by him repeatedly. While nobody has questioned Brooks' ability to score, the Kings run much better with Isaiah Thomas (17 points, five boards, four assists) at the point but Keith Smart and his bosses may not figure it out all season.

He had scored in single figures in three straight games coming into this one and has hit just 9-of-29 shots over his last four games. Despite his shaky play, Isaiah Thomas got another DNP-CD tonight, as the Kings remain a mess at point guard.

Aaron Brooks struggled throughout his 22 minutes of action in Saturday's defeat, scoring just two points with two assists and two turnovers. Brooks made 1-of-6 FGs and did nothing to justify his starting gig, though his poor line hardly stood out on a night when the Kings as a team shot just 38.2 percent from the field. He seems to have a greater comfort level alongside Tyreke Evans (knee) and had been providing decent points and 3-pointers, so we're willing to give him a mulligan.

Scoring has never been the problem with Brooks, but tonight he was torched relentlessly on defense and eventually fouled out. The Kings are committed to proving Geoff Petrie's man-crush on Brooks correct, though, so the tepid effort with Tyreke Evans out in a loss will probably be rewarded with more starts.

Aaron Brooks played 26 minutes on Tuesday but hit just 2-of-7 shots and a 3-pointer for seven points, three rebounds and four assists. Isaiah Thomas (21 minutes, 12 points) actually played well tonight and was on the court at the end of the game. Maybe Keith Smart is going to start working Thomas back into the mix, and if it happens, Brooks is going to take a hit. Brooks has been hit or miss recently, so keep an eye on Thomas' playing time going forward. If he continues to see a bump in minutes, Brooks might be someone you can drop for a hot free agent.

Aaron Brooks was fined $25,000 for throwing his mouthpiece into the stands and hitting a fan after the game-deciding play in Friday's loss to the Jazz. Brooks thought he was fouled by Jamaal Tinsley but by end-of-the-game standards he didn't have a case. The culture of complaining after foul calls is condoned by Keith Smart, and we doubt this has any impact on the rotation in Sacramento.

Starting again at PG, Aaron Brooks had 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting, three 3-pointers, two assists, four steals and one turnover. Brooks played 32 minutes, Isaiah Thomas was scoreless in seven minutes, and the balance of power isn't going to shift overnight, especially after a victory. Brooks is posting serviceable numbers as a starter and seems like a nice pickup if you need points, 3-pointers and a dash of assists.
