Davies (oblique) is scheduled for his first rehab start Saturday for Double-A Amarillo, the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis has thrown bullpen sessions and in extended spring training on the road to recovery from the injury he suffered April 8. The Diamondbacks will evaluate him following Saturday's outing to determine if he'll need another rehab start before being activated from the injured list.

Davies (oblique) is scheduled to pitch in another extended spring training game Sunday or Monday, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davies tossed 34 pitches over two innings in his first extended spring training start Tuesday in Arizona and will try to work four innings or around 55 pitches in his second outing. The 30-year-old right-hander is almost fully recovered from the oblique strain he suffered in early April and should be an option for the Diamondbacks' rotation later this month.

Davies (oblique) threw two innings and 34 pitches in an extended spring training start Tuesday, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
This marked Davies' first action since he suffered a left oblique strain in the second week of the season. The right-hander is on target to pitch again in five or six days, when the Diamondbacks plan to stretch him out to 50 or 55 pitches.

Davies (oblique) threw a 41-pitch bullpen before Friday's game against the Nationals, Theo Mackie of the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The next step according to Mackie is having him pitch in the Arizona Complex League for his next outing. That'll be the first time Davies pitches in a live situation since he suffered his oblique strain on April 8 against the Dodgers. The right-hander will likely need to make multiple starts in the minors before he can rejoin the Arizona rotation right around the end of May -- assuming things go well and there are no setbacks.

Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said Saturday that Davies (oblique) is expected to throw a bullpen session this week, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davies recently started a throwing program and threw out to 120 feet Saturday. The bullpen session will be the right-hander's first time on a mound since sustaining the oblique injury during a start April 8.

Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said Saturday that Davies (oblique) has more than a Grade 1 strain is expected to miss "several weeks."
EDGE Analysis
Grade 1 strains are the least severe, but the Diamondbacks will need to cover multiple starts while Davies mends. Drey Jameson filled in for Davies last Wednesday and is expected to retain that fill-in role for the time being.

The Diamondbacks placed Davies (oblique) on the 15-day injured list Sunday
EDGE Analysis
Davies strained his left oblique during his start in Saturday's win over the Dodgers. The right-hander will likely miss at least a few weeks while recovering, and there's a good chance he won't make another start for Arizona in April. Peter Solomon has been recalled from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move, but Drey Jameson or Brandon Pfaadt are likely the top candidates to fill Davies' spot in the rotation.

The Diamondbacks announced that Davies left Saturday's game against the Dodgers with a strained left oblique.
EDGE Analysis
Davies looked to be in immediate pain after throwing a pitch in the fifth inning. The right-hander will all but assuredly be placed on the injured list, and the question now will be how long Davies will miss and who will replace him in the rotation. It's worth noting that Brandon Pfaadt started for Triple-A Reno on Saturday, so he could be the natural replacement.

Davies did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks across five innings during a 2-1 win over the Dodgers. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Davies gave up a two-out, solo home run to Will Smith in the bottom of the first inning but steadied the ship and cruised through five innings. It was a solid first outing for the veteran right-hander, who struggled mightily during spring training. Across 27 starts with Arizona in 2022, Davies posted a 4.09 ERA and 1.30 WHIP with a 102:52 K:BB over 134.1 innings.
