Escobar is out of the lineup Sunday against the Indians, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Escobar has been a steadying force atop the Angels lineup with a .313 average and .362 on-base percentage on the season, but even in boom times, he still needs periodic rest. He'll be given a breather Sunday following a stretch of nine starts in nine days, allowing Jefry Marte to take a turn at third base.

Escobar went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 8-7 loss to the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
The 33-year-old continues to put together a fine encore to his career season in 2015 with the Nationals, as he's now slashing .314/.366/.426 after Saturday's effort. It was his second consecutive multi-hit effort, as well as his second straight outing with a pair of RBI. Escobar has done a solid job setting the table at the top of the Angels' order, and has been much more proficient at getting on base consistently than might have initially been expected.

Escobar (wrist) is back in the lineup Friday against the Pirates, Eric Kay of the Angels reports.
EDGE Analysis
He will be starting at third and batting leadoff for Friday's game against Francisco Liriano. Escobar will be making his return after he left the game Sunday while attempting to field a groundball in the third inning against Houston. The 33-year-old is batting .306 with three home runs and 13 RBI on the year and has been one of the bright spots on the Angels this season.

Escobar (wrist) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Although he was expected to return to the lineup Wednesday, Escobar is still sidelined with a bruised left wrist. There has been no word at this point as to whether Escobar is at risk of needing a stint on the DL, but Wednesday does mark his third straight day out of the lineup. Jefry Marte, who exploded for four hits in Tuesday's win over Detroit, will get another start at the hot corner with Escobar out of the lineup.

Escobar (wrist) is expected to return to the lineup Wednesday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
The diagnosis of a bruised left wrist seemed to bode well for Escobar's chances of avoiding a DL stint, and manager Mike Scioscia said Tuesday that he expects the 33-year-old to return after a two-start absence. Escobar has gone 32-for-97 (.330 average) for the month of May, although only five of those hits went for extra bases (all doubles).

Escobar (wrist) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Angels recalled Jefry Marte from Triple-A Salt Lake to get the start in Escobar's place Tuesday. Escobar is still considered day-to-day with a bruised wrist according to Gonzalez, so he may be able to avoid a stint on the DL, but he'll miss at least one more game.

Escobar is out of the lineup Monday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Escobar left Sunday's matchup against the Astros due to what was later described as a bruised left writst. He was given a "day-to-day" diagnosis, but the Angels will take a cautious approach here and rest the third baseman for the evening contest. Reserve infielder Gregorio Petit will man the hot corner Monday night.

Escobar is day-to-day with a bruised left wrist, Pedro Moura of the LA Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The news is seemingly positive for Escobar, as he appears to have avoided a more serious ailment. He'll likely return to action as soon as he can swing a bat at or close to pain-free.

Escobar left Sunday's game against the Astros in the third inning with an apparent wrist or thumb injury, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The third baseman sustained the injury while attempting to field a ground ball and was replaced by C.J. Cron. Escobar returned two weeks ago from a jammed right thumb, so there may be some reason to fear that he aggravated something. Regardless, the Angels should have an update on the status of their leadoff hitter following the game.

Escobar (thumb) is back in the lineup Saturday against the Mariners, Jeff Fletcher of the OC Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Escobar jammed his thumb Thursday, forcing him to sit out Friday's game, but he'll return to the lineup Saturday at his usual spot atop the lineup. Escobar will man third base, sending Jefry Marte, who got the nod Friday, to the bench.
