Escobar (knee) is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The team was hoping to have Escobar back at third base and atop the order following Thursday's off day, but Escobar will miss his seventh consecutive start as a result of the knee injury. He has been able to avoid the 15-day DL to this point, but if Escobar does not show improvement before the end of the weekend, the Angels could opt for a backdated stint.

Escobar (knee) likely won't get back on the field until Friday, according to manager Mike Scioscia, Bill Shaikin of the LA Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Escobar would return for the series opener in Boston if he is able to play Friday. The 33-year-old has missed five straight games dating back to last Friday, and will probably be placed on the 7-day DL if he is not able to go against the Red Sox. Escobar has been one of the bright spots for the Angels this season, batting .310 with three home runs and 20 RBI for the club.

EDGE Analysis
Escobar continues to recover from a bone bruise on his left knee, and Monday will mark his fourth consecutive absence. Escobar underwent an MRI on his ailing left knee that revealed a bone bruise, Joey Kaufman of the Orange County Register reports. He remains out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
The bone bruise will cost Escobar his third game in a row. The Angels have resisted placing him on the DL, though that still remains a distinct possibility if he fails to make much progress in the coming days. Jefry Marte has been starting at third base during Escobar's absence and would likely continue to do so if Escobar ends up on the DL.

Updating on a previous report, Escobar left Thursday's game with a knee injury, which is likely why he is out of Friday's lineup, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Escobar left Thursday's game after flying out to right field in the bottom of the seventh inning. He was replaced by Gregorio Petit at third for the remainder of the game, but Jefry Marte will be taking over at the hot corner for Friday's contest. At this point, Escobar should be considered day-to-day until a further update is made available.

Escobar is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the A's.
EDGE Analysis
Angels beat writer Jeff Fletcher notes that there was no exact reason given as to why Escobar was left out of the lineup Friday after being lifted from Thursday's contest. ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports that the Angels are listening to other teams regarding Escobar as a potential trade piece, although that may not be the reason he was left out of the lineup Friday. Regardless, Jefry Marte will take over at third base for at least Friday's contest against the A's.
