Darvish did not factor into the decision in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Phillies, as he allowed three runs across six innings. He gave up four hits and three walks, while striking out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish completed six innings for just the second time this season, but former Chicago ace Jake Arrieta held the Cubs to just one run through his six innings, keeping Darvish from picking up his third win. The Japanese righty still has a subpar 5.06 ERA, though he's looked better in his last two outings. Darvish will look to build on the quality start his next time out Saturday against the Reds.

Darvish allowed two runs on five hits across 5.1 innings Wednesday against the Reds but did not factor into the decision. He struck out 11 and did not issue any walks.
EDGE Analysis
Though he failed to complete six innings for the eighth time in nine starts this year, Darvish still put together his most encouraging outing of the season. The 11 strikeouts are a season high, and the zero walks are a welcome sight for the righty after issuing four or more walks four times in his past five starts. Darvish will look to build on this his next time out Monday against the Phillies.

Darvish allowed one earned run on one hit and six walks while striking out across four innings Thursday against the Marlins. He did not factor into decision.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish struggled with his command once again, finding the zone on only 50 of his 97 pitches. That caused an early exit, costing him a win despite leaving the game with a lead. More positively, he did continue to rack up strikeouts at a strong rate, and now 44 has punchouts across 36.2 innings for the season. Overall, he'll need to work more efficiently as he has managed to pitch deeper than five innings only three times in eight starts this season. He'll look to improve on his 8.1 BB/9 in his next start Wednesday at Cincinnati.

Darvish struck out four but permitted five runs over four innings in a no-decision against the Cardinals on Saturday. He allowed six hits and five walks as the Cubs eventually won 6-5.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish yielded single runs on a solo homer to Jose Martinez in the second inning and a Matt Carpenter double in the third. However, he had even more difficulty in the fourth, allowing three more runs on three hits and two walks. Even though he finished out the fourth inning, he began the fifth with two walks and was removed after 81 pitches. The 32-year-old has made seven starts this season and has completed six innings only once. This effort leaves Darvish with a 5.79 ERA and a 1.71 WHIP along with an unsightly 37:27 K:BB.

Darvish (2-3) struck out eight and picked up the win Saturday against the Diamondbacks. He gave up one run on two hits and four walks over six innings.
EDGE Analysis
The Cubs put up nine runs, which was more than enough for Darvish. It's been an uneven start to the year for the 32-year-old righty, as he now owns a 5.02 ERA, but going at least six innings for the first time this season is a step in the right direction. To take another step forward, Darvish will need to cut down on the walks, as he now has 22 through 28.2 innings. Darvish will look to build on the solid start in his next outing, which lines up for Friday against the Cardinals.

Darvish (1-3) took the loss Saturday against the Diamondbacks by allowing three runs on five hits across five innings. He struck out seven and walked three.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish gave up a pair of solo home runs during the first inning and gave up another run in the second, but was able to settle down over his final three frames. The 32-year-old has undoubtedly pitched better in his last two starts following a rough beginning to the season, but has still struggled a bit with his command by issuing seven walks. The veteran right-hander has a 5.96 ERA, 1.72 WHIP and 25:18 K:BB across 22.2 innings and lines up to face the Diamondbacks again next weekend.

Darvish (1-2) picked up the win against the Marlins on Monday, giving up two earned runs on four hits over 5.2 innings, striking out eight and walking four as the Cubs won 7-2.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish was off to a rough start to the season, so it was good to see the right-hander put up a stat line like this and pick up his first win of the campaign. It wasn't entirely seamless, as he walked four more hitters to bring his K:BB to an unspectacular 18:15 through 17.2 innings, but he did manage to strike out a season-high eight hitters. Thanks to his rough first three outings, Darvish will take a bloated 6.11 ERA and a 1.75 WHIP into his next start, which will pit him against the Diamondbacks at home on Saturday.

Darvish (0-2) allowed five runs (four earned) over 5.1 innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Pirates. He gave up five hits and struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish was victimized by two home runs, including a two-run shot off the bat of Starling Marte in the third inning. This was the righty's longest outing of the season so far, but once again, he did not look like the ace the Cubs thought they were getting last offseason. Darvish will take a disappointing 7.50 ERA into his next start, which is lined up to come Monday against an exploitable Marlins lineup.

Darvish (0-1) allowed three earned runs on five hits and four walks across four innings to take the loss Thursday against the Braves, He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Darvish actually looked OK through four innings, but the wheels came off for the righty and his bullpen mates in the fifth. He started the frame by allowing a double and a walk before getting the hook with the Cubs down 1-0. Two Chicago relievers than combined to allow both inherited runners to score, along with three others. Darvish lasted longer than his first start of the season, in which he was pulled after 2.2 innings, but that's about the only silver lining here. The 32-year-old has walked 11 batters through 6.2 innings this season to go with an 8.10 ERA, and he looks like anything but a staff ace at this point. Darvish will look to get on track in his next start, which is scheduled for Wednesday against the Pirates at Wrigley FIeld.

Darvish didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 8-6 loss to the Rangers, allowing three runs on two hits and seven walks over 2.2 innings while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander walked six of the nine batters he faced the first time through the Texas order, eventually throwing just 38 of his 75 pitches for strikes before getting the hook. Darvish battled a blister late in the spring, so his difficulties finding the plate Saturday may well be related. He's trying to rebound from an injury-plagued 2018, but his first start of the year -- in his old Arlington stomping grounds, no less -- could only have been worse if he'd broken down again. The 32-year-old is set to return to the mound April 4 in Atlanta, but it wouldn't be a shock if the Cubs elect to go in another direction and give Darvish more time to figure things out.
