Buehler will take the hill Tuesday for High-A Rancho Cucamonga, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Buehler was optioned to the minors after a poor outing against the Cubs, as he surrendered five runs in just one inning of work. The Dodgers hope to stretch him out in the minors, with a possible return to the big club in mid-July if he performs as expected.

Buehler has been optioned to High-A Rancho Cucamonga, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Buehler did not look ready to return Thursday, when he allowed five runs in one inning of work against the Cubs. The plan will likely be for Buehler to stretch out at Rancho Cucamonga, and after a few starts in which he can get his pitch count back to where it needs to be -- assuming he performs as expected -- he can come back to the majors. Buehler will need to spend at least 10 days in the minors, so expect a return in mid-to-late July. Expect a corresponding move to be announced before Saturday night's game.

Buehler's next appearance and his role in that appearance remain up in the air, manager Dave Roberts said Friday night, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Roberts said earlier Friday that Buehler would take his start Tuesday against Pittsburgh and throw roughly four innings and 60 pitches, if possible. Now it's unclear if Buehler will head to the bullpen or possibly the minor leagues to get stretched out. Until we hear a confirmation, we'll still consider Buehler the probable starter Tuesday, but keep a sharp eye out for updates this weekend.

Manager Dave Roberts told MLB Network Radio that Buehler will start Tuesday against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Buehler made a surprise return from the DL on Thursday, pitching in relief of Clayton Kershaw instead of making his previously scheduled minor-league rehab start. That appearance did not go well (five earned runs in one inning), but Buehler had a 2.63 ERA in his first nine starts and there was little doubt that he would slot back into the rotation eventually. He figures to face limited pitch counts in his next couple starts after throwing only 35 pitches in his return.

Buehler (4-2) allowed five runs in just one-plus inning of work, yielding five hits (one home run) and a walk in Thursday's 11-5 loss to the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Buehler was also dinged with the blown save in his first relief appearance of 2018. The 23-year-old rookie was on the DL for nearly three weeks with a rib injury and came out of the bullpen in lieu of making a rehab start in the minors. This obviously didn't go according to plan, but Buehler had a terrific 2.63 ERA prior to his DL stint. For now, it's unclear when he'll get his next start, but it looks like it will come against Pittsburgh early next week.

The Dodgers activated Buehler (ribs) off the 10-day disabled list Thursday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Buehler was originally slated to throw a bullpen session Thursday but the Dodgers bumped him up for a minor-league rehab start at Triple-A Oklahoma City, and now have decided to shift course once again. The team apparently plans to utilize Buehler out of the bullpen Thursday in lieu of the rehab assignment, and he will take the next full inning once Clayton Kershaw exits the game, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Buehler (ribs) will throw a three-inning rehab outing with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com, Buehler could rejoin the big-league rotation next week, presumably either Tuesday or Wednesday against the Pirates. It was originally reported that Buehler would throw a bullpen session Thursday, so the fact that it will be a rehab start moves up his timetable. Manager Dave Roberts has said that the Dodgers could briefly operate with a six-man rotation when Buehler returns.

Buehler (ribs) will throw another bullpen session Thursday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Buehler completed his first bullpen session Sunday and had a pain-free session Tuesday as he works his way back from a right-rib microfracture. There remains no official timeline for the young right-hander's return, but manager Dave Roberts indicated the team could briefly operate with a six-man starting rotation once he is activated, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Buehler (ribs) threw a bullpen session Sunday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Buehler was scheduled to throw a session Saturday, but the session was delayed as he was still feeling pain in his ribs. It doesn't appear that the setback was a major one, as he ended up only being delayed one day.

Buehler (ribs) threw off flat ground Saturday, but his scheduled bullpen session was pushed back to Sunday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Buehler was apparently still feeling pain in his ribs, which isn't a great sign, though if the session only ends up being postponed by one day it won't change his overall return timeline by much. The young righty hasn't pitched since June 8 after being shut down with a rib microfracture.
