The 26-year-old has undoubtedly been one of the best starters in baseball this year, registering a quality outing in 18 of his 21 starts. He's gone at least seven while striking out eight or more batters over his last three appearances and has not allowed a home run since June 24. Buehler owns a 2.19 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 139:31 K:BB over 135.2 innings. He's in line for a challenging matchup against the Astros next week.

Buehler didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Giants despite tossing 7.1 innings of one-run ball, allowing five hits and a walk while fanning nine.

Buehler did everything he could to come away with his 11th win of the season, but the bullpen surrendered four runs in the top of the ninth and that forced the right-hander to settle with a no-decision. The 26-year-old is in the midst of a career-best season, though, posting a career-best 2.31 ERA and a 0.91 WHIP while also tossing three straight quality starts. His next outing is slated to happen next week on the road against the same opponent, this time in San Francisco.

His most troublesome inning was actually the first but a five spot by Los Angeles in the bottom of the inning eased all concerns.
