Davis struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his 43rd save of the season in a 5-2 win over the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
While his 4.13 ERA isn't up the standards he posted at sea level, Davis' 1.06 WHIP and 78:26 K:BB through 65.1 innings on the season are still solid. The 33-year-old will continue to head the Rockies' bullpen through the postseason and into 2019.

Davis earned the save in Thursday's victory over the Phillies, allowing one hit and striking out two in a scoreless ninth frame.
EDGE Analysis
Davis allowed the first batter of the inning to reach on a single, but he retired the next three batters in order with two strikeouts. His ERA still sits at an unimpressive 4.20 on the season, but he owns a 1.07 WHIP with 76 strikeouts over 64.1 innings to go along with 42 saves.

Davis got the save against the Diamondbacks on Sunday, striking out one without allowing a baserunner over a scoreless ninth inning to close out Colorado's 2-0 victory.
EDGE Analysis
It the 41st save of the year for Davis, who has settled down in recent appearances after a string of rough outings had pushed his ERA up over 5.00. That's now down to 4.26 following this outing, to go along with a 1.07 WHIP and 74 strikeouts over 63.1 innings.

Davis struck out the side in a scoreless inning of work to earn his 38th save of the season Monday against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Davis was thrust into a save opportunity after a late comeback by his team and he wasted little time in retiring the side. He threw 9 of 15 pitches for strikes as he recorded his ninth straight scoreless inning of work. Davis struggled to find his form earlier in the season, but he's in top form down the stretch and should be a valuable member of the bullpen as the Rockies look to lock down postseason positioning.

Davis struck out the side in a perfect ninth inning Tuesday against the Angels to pick up his 36th save.
EDGE Analysis
Davis was tasked with facing the bottom of the Angels lineup to protect a 3-2 lead, and he sent them all down swinging. As evidenced by his 4.80 ERA, the 32-year-old has had his struggles this season, but he's now worked seven straight scoreless outings and his 36 saves have him ahead of Kenley Jansen (32) for the National League lead.

Davis gave up one hit in an otherwise clean ninth inning Sunday against the Braves en route to picking up his 35th save. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
His 35 saves lead the National League. Edwin Diaz (47) and Craig Kimbrel (37) have each saved more games in the American League. Given the Rockies' long-term commitment to Davis and his lofty saves total, his job seems pretty secure, despite an unsightly 4.99 ERA.

Davis pitched a perfect 10th inning to record his 34th save of the season in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old blew back-to-back saves to kick off August, but Davis seems to be settling back down, posting four straight scoreless appearances and converting his last three save opportunities. He has a messy 5.04 ERA on the year, but his 1.21 WHIP and 9.8 K/9 through 51.1 innings are still respectable.

Davis (2-6) walked one batter in a scoreless ninth inning Sunday, earning the win in the 4-3 victory against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
The Dodgers teed off on Davis in his last appearance, as he allowed three runs on two homers and took the loss. This scoreless inning was much needed for the 32-year-old righty, whose season ERA still sits at 5.40. Even with the high ERA and six blown saves, it appears Davis is still the main closer for Colorado, even if he's slowly losing grasp.

Manager Bud Black defended Davis, who blew two consecutive saves Thursday and Friday, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports. "I'm going to defend Wade Davis," Black said Saturday afternoon before the Rockies played the Brewers at Miller Park. "This season is not going to depend on just the bullpen, or the lineup or the starting rotation. I can't remember which player said it best last night, in a quote. 'When we lose, we lose as a team. When we win, we win as a team.' That's how we look at it."
EDGE Analysis
Black is sticking by his embattled closer, who has a 5.09 ERA with six blown saves in 37 opportunities. By contrast, at this point last year, Davis had not blown a save in 22 chances and had a 2.43 ERA.

Davis struck out one in a clean ninth inning to get the save Tuesday against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Davis threw just six pitches (all for strikes) to finish off the Cardinals on way to his 31st save of the season. Davis has now converted his last 11 straight save chances, and he trails only Edwin Diaz (40) and Craig Kimbrel (33) for most saves in the majors. The right-hander has a 50:22 K:BB in 45 innings and is holding opponents to a .182 batting average.
