Mahle allowed two runs on four hits with seven strikeouts and one walk across seven innings during a no-decision against the Astros on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
This was Mahle's best start in more than a month, but Astros starter Gerrit Cole pitched just a little bit better, so despite the Reds win, Mahle didn't receive the "W." Mahle did, though, drop his season ERA and improved his K/BB rate to 4.44. He remains 2-7 with a 4.17 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 80 strikeouts in 77.2 innings this season. Mahle will make his next start Tuesday at the Angels.

Mahle (2-7) took the loss Friday, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks over 4.1 innings while striking out four as the Reds fell 7-1 to the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
It was the right-hander's shortest outing of the year -- Mahle had lasted at least five innings in each of his first dozen appearances. He'll carry a 4.46 ERA and 73:17 K:BB through 70.2 innings into his next start Wednesday, at home against the Astros.

Mahle (2-6) allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits with two strikeouts and no walks across five innings while taking a loss against the Phillies on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old was cruising through four, but then in the fifth, he yielded three straight hits, including a two-run homer to Jay Bruce. The other hit came around to score on a throwing error from Tucker Barnhart. Mahle has been inconsistent, but he's been better than his 2-6 record, especially lately. He is 2-2 with a 3.99 ERA in his last six outings. Overall, Mahle owns a 4.21 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 69 strikeouts in 66.1 innings this season. He will face the Rangers at home in his next start Friday.

Mahle won't start Thursday's series finale against the Cardinals following Wednesday's postponement.
EDGE Analysis
Wednesday's scheduled pitcher Anthony DeSclafani will instead take the mound for the Reds with an additional day of rest. The team has yet to announce when Mahle will return to the mound, but two scheduled off days next week means the Reds could operate without a fifth starter until June 18.

Mahle (2-5) earned the win after allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight over five innings against the Nationals on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Mahle's offense supplied him with five runs in the bottom of the first inning, and it was all he needed to come away with the win. He surrendered one run in the second, one in the fourth and another in the fifth prior to departing with a 9-3 lead. The 24-year-old right-hander desperately needed a solid outing following a start in which he yielded six runs over five innings, and he got one. Mahle owns a 4.26 ERA with 67 punchouts across 61.1 innings this season.

Mahle allowed six runs on nine hits (including three homers) in five innings Saturday against the Cubs. He walked one and struck out five and did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The start was probably Mahle's worst of the season, as he'd yet to allow more than five runs in any previous outing. Most of the damage was done in the fourth inning, when Addison Russell hit a two-run homer and Anthony Rizzo followed with a two-run double. The game was a shootout throughout, so Mahle avoided the loss despite the Reds eventually losing, but his ERA rose by over half a run to 4.15. He'll get the chance to bring that number back down Friday against Washington.

Mahle (1-5) threw six shutout innings, allowing only four hits with two walks and five strikeouts to earn his first victory of the season against the Dodgers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
While this was his first win, Mahle has pitched much better than his 1-5 record indicates. He has taken a loss twice when allowing just one run. On two more occasions, Mahle yielded one or no runs and settled for a no-decision. He also has a very healthy 4.9 K:BB, which simply didn't translate into a win until Saturday because of poor run support. Mahle possesses a 3.51 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 54 strikeouts in 51.1 innings as well. He will be looking for his second win during his next start at the Cubs on Saturday.

Mahle surrendered four runs on six hits and a walk while striking out eight over 6.1 innings Sunday in a no-decision against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
All four of Mahle's runs came via the home-run ball, as he gave up a two-run blast in the first and seventh innings. He did manage to pound the strike zone, however, tossing 68 of 93 pitches for strikes. The right-hander owns a 3.97 ERA with a 49:8 K:BB through 45.1 innings this season.

Mahle (0-5) took the loss Tuesday, giving up one run on three hits and a walk over six innings while striking out eight as the Reds were downed 2-0 by the A's.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was sharp in delivering his second quality start of the season, but unfortunately Mike Fiers was busy throwing a no-hitter for Oakland. Mahle's winless record belies a solid 3.69 ERA and 41:8 K:BB through 39 innings, and he'll look for more run support in his next outing Sunday in San Francisco.

Mahle (0-4) allowed one run on four hits with seven strikeouts and no walks across five innings in a loss to the Mets on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Unfortunately, Mahle ran into an unstoppable Noah Syndergaard, who tossed a complete-game shutout. Owners should still be pleased with this performance, though, as it was Mahle's best since April 10. The only run he allowed Thursday was on a homer against Syndergaard. As encouraging as this is, the lack of run support is nothing new, and Mahle has been unable to earn a win this year in large part because of it. He is 0-4 with a 4.09 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 33 strikeouts in 33 innings. His next scheduled start is on the road against the Athletics on Tuesday.
