General Manager Alex Anthopoulos indicated Sunday that he's "cautiously optimistic" the Blue Jays could have Tulowitzki (shoulder) back in 2-3 weeks, Brendan Kennedy of the Toronto Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's an unfortunate break for both the Blue Jays and their start shortstop, as he could miss the remainder of the regular season. The Blue Jays will likely go with the combination of Ryan Goins, Cliff Pennington and Darwin Barney in the middle infield until Tulowitzki rejoins the club.

Tulowitzki (shoulder) is out of the lineup Sunday against the Yankees, Sportsnet's Barry Davis reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tulowitzki suffered a cracked shoulder blade following a collision with teammate Kevin Pillar in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, an injury that will result in an indefinite absence. According to ESPN.com, the Blue Jays plan to monitor Tulowitzki over the next week before determining a timetable for his return. The team should have a clearer idea on how much time Tulowitzki might miss within the next few days, but in the meantime, look for Ryan Goins to serve as the Jays' primary shortstop.

Tulowitzki has been diagnosed with a small crack in his left shoulder blade as well as upper-back muscle bruises, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
X-rays on Tulowitzki's ribs and chest were negative after he collided with center fielder Kevin Pillar during Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader, but the team later revealed that damage to the shortstop's shoulder and upper-back was found. It's uncertain how much time Tulowitzki could miss, but the Blue Jays will monitor him closely over the next week. Ryan Goins got the start at shortstop in Game 2 of the the twin bill.

Tulowitzki (ribs/chest) is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Saturday's double-header, SportsNet's Barry Davis reports.
EDGE Analysis
He left Saturday's game after a collision with center fielder Kevin Pillar and while X-rays came back negative, it is no surprise that he was held out of the nightcap. Look for Tulowitzki to be reevaluated Sunday. Ryan Goins will start at shortstop and hit eighth Saturday night.

Tulowitzki underwent X-rays on his ribs and chest after being taken out of Saturday's game against the Yankees, and the results came back negative, MLB.com's Gregor Chisholm reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's still not entirely clear what type of setback Tulowitzki is dealing with, but the Blue Jays will send him for an MRI in order to determine exactly what type of injury he is dealing with. Tulowitzki's status moving forward also is unclear, but the Blue Jays will not evaluate the results of his MRI until Sunday, so it is almost certain he will not return to the lineup for the second game of Saturday's doubleheader with the Yankees.

Tulowitzki went 2-for-3 with two RBI in Wednesday's win over Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
It seems the Jays have finally recognized that Tulo shouldn't be hitting leadoff, as he's been shifted to the fifth spot in the order, where his bat profiles far better in this lineup. It wouldn't be surprising to see the star shortstop heat up down the stretch as he settles into his new digs.

Tulowitzki hit a three-run homer -- his 10th of the season -- in Sunday's 11-3 victory over the Braves. Tulowitzki may have lost his 21-game hitting streak in the Rockies' preceding contest Saturday, but he'll still close the first half on a high note. The newly-minted All-Star's three-run shot proved to be the difference maker Sunday, as his sixth-inning blast off reliever David Carpenter gave the Rockies an advantage they wouldn't relinquish.

Tulowitzki's career-best 21-game hit streak came to an end Saturday against the Braves when he struck out three times and flied out in his four at-bats. Tulowitzki did draw a walk in his final plate appearance in the ninth inning of the walk-off victory, which was good enough to extend his on-base streak to 37 games. Despite losing out on his quest to chase down Joe DiMaggio's record, Tulowitzki received some good news after the contest when he was named to the National League All-Star Game as an injury replacement.
