Shaw was optioned to Triple-A San Antonio prior to Friday's game against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Playing time has been tough to come by for Shaw, and he is just 2-for-14 with five strikeouts in the eight games he has played in during this most recent stint with the big-league club. Hernan Perez's contract was selected from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Shaw was officially recalled from Triple-A San Antonio on Friday and is starting at first base versus the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw slashed .316/.494/.754 with eight homers and a 19:17 BB:K in 18 games with the Missions to earn his way back to the majors, and he'll start at first base Friday for the first time this season. The Cubs have southpaws Jon Lester and Jose Quintana slated to start Saturday and Sunday so Shaw could be headed back to the bench, but more playing time should open up next week at Oakland with the designated hitter spot available.

Shaw will be recalled from Triple-A San Antonio, Robert Murray of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw is set to rejoin the Brewers ahead of Friday's series opener against the Cubs after spending the past month with San Antonio. In 18 appearances for the Missions, the infielder slashed .316/.494/.754 with eight home runs and a 19:17 BB:K. Despite his success during his stint in the minors, it remains to be seen what role Shaw will fill upon his return to the big club, as Keston Hiura and Mike Moustakas have both played well enough to deserve everyday at-bats.

Shaw is 7-for-16 with four home runs, eight RBI and a 3:2 BB:K over his last five games with Triple-A San Antonio.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw was sent down in late June after posting just a .568 OPS over 57 big-league games, and it appears he may be finally getting things going at the plate. He will likely need an extended run of quality at-bats before the Brewers consider calling him up again, but even then the club could opt to wait until September if Mike Moustakas and Keston Hiura keep getting the job done offensively.

Shaw was officially optioned to Triple-A on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw simply has not been able to get things going with the bat this season, so the Brewers decided to send him to Triple-A San Antonio to let him try to get back on track there. With Shaw in the minors, Mike Moustakas and Keston Hiura -- at third base and second base, respectively -- will start regularly for the Brewers. Shaw will be back with the Brewers at some point this season as long as he stays healthy, but given the way Moustakas and Hiura have hit the ball this season, he will likely fill a reserve role upon his return.

Shaw will be optioned to Triple-A San Antonio, Robert Murray of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw has scuffled mightily this season, hitting just .164/.278/.290 across 212 plate appearances. It was a surprising fall in performance for Shaw, who hit more than 30 home runs in each of his first two seasons with the Brewers. His demotion clears roster space for top-prospect Keston Hiura.

Shaw is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw will remain on the bench for a second consecutive game with southpaw Wade LeBlanc slated to cover the majority of innings for the Mariners. Mike Moustakas is covering third base in his stead, with Hernan Perez starting at the keystone.

Shaw went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Reds on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw hit a first-pitch fastball from Anthony DeSclafani 465 feet to right field in the third inning. The home run was the longest home run of the season for the Brewers and traveled out of the stadium with a 113-MPH exit velocity. Shaw needs to start hitting to ward off top prospect Keston Hiura. Shaw has a disappointing .167/.275/.294 slash line through 55 games this season.

Shaw remains on the bench against lefty Logan Allen and the Padres on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw has been strictly platooned since returning from a wrist injury. He'll likely sit again Wednesday with Matt Strahm on the mound. As usual, Mike Moustakas slides over to third base, with Hernan Perez starting at second.
