Gonsolin (shoulder) didn't throw a bullpen session Sunday since he's still experiencing soreness, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old is eligible to return from the 10-day injured list Sunday, but manager Dave Roberts said the right-hander is "a ways away" from being activated. Gonsolin landed on the injured list April 4 with right shoulder inflammation and has yet to make his season debut.

Gonsolin will attempt to throw a bullpen session Sunday but is still dealing with shoulder soreness, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonsolin is eligible to come off the 10-day injured list Sunday, but Toribio notes that the right-hander isn't close to returning to game action. Gonsolin has yet to pitch in a regular-season game thus far in 2020 as he has been dealing with the shoulder issue since the start of the campaign. When he does ultimately return, the 26-year-old is expected to fill a multi-inning relief role out of the bullpen.

The Dodgers placed Gonsolin on the 10-day injured list Sunday with right shoulder inflammation.
EDGE Analysis
Gonsolin didn't appear in any of the Dodgers' first three games of the season, so his IL stint can be backdated to April 3. According to Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times, manager Dave Roberts said Gonsolin had been dealing with the injury for "the last few days," so the Dodgers will shut him down temporarily with the hope his inflammation calms down. Los Angeles called up Dennis Santana from the taxi squad in a corresponding move.

Gonsolin will begin the year in a bullpen role for the Dodgers, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonsolin battled for a starting spot in Los Angeles' rotation throughout the spring, but an embarrassment of riches has resulted in a relief role for the right-hander. Gonsolin will join Jimmy Nelson and David Price in a multi-inning relief role, giving manager Dave Roberts plenty of weapons at his disposal out of the bullpen.

Gonsolin has pitched six scoreless innings over three outings this spring, allowing one hit and no walks while striking out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Gonsolin has been nearly perfect thus far in Cactus League play as he makes his case to be included in the Dodgers' starting rotation. The right-hander has posted a 2.60 ERA (3.02 FIP) and 0.92 WHIP through 86.2 big-league innings, which would guarantee him a starting role in almost any other rotation. Unfortunately for him, Los Angeles has a wealth of starting pitching talent, so Gonsolin could open the campaign in the bullpen. However, Juan Toribio of MLB.com notes that veteran starter David Price is being looked at as a multi-inning relief option, which could open the door for Gonsolin to start.

Gonsolin recorded the 1.2 innings of work Tuesday, allowing one run, three hits and two walks while striking out four in a win over the Rays in Game 6 of the World Series.
EDGE Analysis
Gonsolin struggled again on Tuesday, with his only mistake being a solo home run to Randy Arozarena in the first inning. The 26-year-old threw 30 of his 48 pitches for strikes. The right-hander had a great regular season but was unable to replicate this in the postseason.

Gonsolin will be a conventional starter, not an opener, in Game 6 of the World Series against the Rays on Tuesday, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonsolin has been used in shorter outings thus far in the postseason, throwing 7.2 innings across three appearances. He hasn't had much success, posting a 9.39 ERA and a 1.70 WHIP while walking 19.4 percent of opposing batters. While the Dodgers will hope to get at least five innings out of him, it's far from guaranteed he lasts that long, as they'll have a full bullpen worth of rested relievers ready to step in following Monday's off day should his struggles continue.

Gonsolin recorded 1.1 innings of work Wednesday, allowing one run, one hit and one walk while fanning one in a loss to the Rays in Game 2 of the World Series.
EDGE Analysis
Gonsolin struggled in his brief appearance, allowing a solo home run to Brandon Lowe in the first inning. The 26-year-old threw 16 of his 29 pitches for strikes and recorded a first-pitch strike on four of the six batters that he faced. The right-hander has now allowed eight earned runs in 7.2 innings of work throughout the postseason.

Gonsolin will start Game 2 of the World Series against the Rays on Wednesday, Alanna Rizzo of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old threw 41 pitches over two innings during Game 7 of the NLCS against the Braves on Sunday, so he'll be taking the mound on two days' rest. Gonsolin figures to be on a fairly short leash, and Dustin May and Julio Urias (both of whom also pitched in Game 7) will be available as well, according to Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register. Gonsolin has labored in his two postseason outings, giving up seven runs on five hits with eight strikeouts and six walks over 6.1 innings.

Gonsolin is expected to enter Sunday's Game 7 against Atlanta after starter Dustin May, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
May pitched in Friday's game and is thus expected to be used as an opener rather than as a traditional starter in Game 7 of the NLCS. Gonsolin has not pitched since Tuesday's Game 2 loss, so he would be pitching on normal rest.
