Manager Dave Roberts said Sunday that Gonsolin is leading the competition to serve as the Dodgers' fifth starter, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonsolin served mainly as a starter last year and recorded a 3.23 ERA and 1.35 WHIP in 55.2 innings across 15 appearances (13 starts). He's been competing with Andrew Heaney and Tyler Anderson for a starting role in camp, but Gonsolin is the leading candidate for the fifth spot in the rotation. Roberts said Heaney will likely make at least one turn through the rotation early in the year since Trevor Bauer (not injury related) is on administrative leave, but Gonsolin appears to be in line for a more permanent starting role.

Gonsolin said he's scheduled to pitch in Game 4 of the NLDS against the Giants on Tuesday, though he's not certain whether he'll start or come out of the bullpen, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Dave Roberts doesn't want to commit on a starter ahead of Monday's Game 3, though it appears it will be Gonsolin handling the bulk of the innings Tuesday, regardless of whether he starts or follows an opener. Clayton Kershaw (forearm) won't make a postseason return, so Gonsolin lines up as the Dodgers' No. 4 starter behind Walker Buehler, Julio Urias and Max Scherzer for the duration of the playoff run.

Gonsolin got a no-decision in Thursday's 8-3 victory over San Diego, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts in 4.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Los Angeles scored early to give Gonsolin an initial lead and the righty did well enough through the game's first four innings, permitting just a solo home run, but served up a Fernando Tatis home run in the fifth that prompted his removal. The most encouraging takeaway is the 78 pitches Gonsolin tossed -- 10 more than any of his previous four starts since coming off the IL earlier this month. This is more than likely the 27-year-old's final regular-season appearance of 2021 and he concludes the campaign with a 4-1 record across 17 appearances, a 3.32 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 65:34 K:BB.

Gonsolin (4-1) got the win in Friday's 4-2 victory over Arizona, allowing two runs on three hits with seven strikeouts in five innings.
EDGE Analysis
Los Angeles jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and never looked back as Gonsolin permitted just three baserunners en route to his fourth win of the season. Although he hasn't been able to pitch deep into games consistently, the 27-year-old has been effective with an even 3.00 ERA with 60 strikeouts in 51 innings this season.

Gonsolin will draw a start Friday versus the Diamondbacks, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Dodgers decided to give Clayton Kershaw an additional day of rest and Gonsolin will pitch for him Friday. After coming in as a reliever Sunday behind Kershaw, the 27-year-old will make his third start since returning from the 10-day injured list Sept. 9. In his previous two starts, he surrendered one run over eight innings while striking out nine.

Gonsolin tossed 2.1 innings out of the bullpen in Sunday's 8-5 win over the Reds, giving up three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
Gonsolin was denied a second start of the week after the Dodgers opted to use him Sunday behind Clayton Kershaw, who was on a limited pitch count in his second outing since returning from the 60-day injured list. While the setup still seemingly put Gonsolin in favorable position to potentially scoop up a win, Kershaw ended up being the pitcher of record after he departed with a 6-1 lead after five innings. Gonsolin should slot back into the Los Angeles rotation when a fifth starter is next needed Saturday in Arizona.

Gonsolin will pitch multiple innings in relief of Clayton Kershaw on Sunday before returning to the starting rotation next week, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the Dodgers having an off day this upcoming Monday, the club can utilize Gonsolin on Sunday in a long relief role and have Julio Urias start on full rest Tuesday against the Rockies. Gonsolin tentatively lines up to make his next start Sept. 25 against Arizona.

Gonsolin (3-1) got the win in Tuesday's 8-4 victory over Arizona, allowing two hits and two walks with six strikeouts in five innings.
EDGE Analysis
Making his second start since returning from injury, Gonsolin was excellent Tuesday with more strikeouts than baserunners allowed. The 27-year-old righty needed just 67 pitches to navigate five innings and there's no doubt he would've pitched deeper had Los Angeles' not been ramping up Gonsolin's workload gradually for the stretch run and playoffs.

Gonsolin allowed one run on three hits and a pair of walks with three strikeouts across three innings during Thursday's loss to the Cardinals. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Gonsolin, who was activated from the injured list ahead of Thursday's game after dealing with shoulder issues, was on a limited pitch count in his return. The 27-year-old tossed 55 pitches, including 34 for strikes. During his recent rehab start, Gonsolin allowed one run on three hits and a walk while striking out one batter over 2.1 innings. The right-hander will look to get further stretched out in his next outing, which tentatively lines up for a favorable matchup at home Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.

Gonsolin (shoulder) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Thursday's start against the Cardinals, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonsolin had been on the injured list since July 31 but will take the mound in Thursday's series finale in St. Louis. He recently made a rehab start and allowed a run on three hits and a walk while striking out one in 2.1 innings. The right-hander will likely be on a pitch count during Thursday's matchup, but he'll provide a boost to the Dodgers' rotation now that he's healthy.
