Tom Gorzelanny was removed from his start on Friday after just four batters, after taking a Jayson Werth line drive off of his throwing elbow. The good news is that X-rays came back negative, so it seems likely that Gorzelanny will be able to avoid a trip to the disabled list. Alfredo Figaro replaced him in the game, and would likely fill in if Gorzelanny does have to miss a start.

Tom Gorzelanny was removed from Friday's start against the Nationals after being hit on the wrist by a line drive off the bat of Jayson Werth. Tom Gorzelanny will make a spot start on Saturday against the Phillies. He's getting the ball in place of the injured Marco Estrada (hamstring). "We're not asking him to go five, six innings," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. "If he had all 10-pitch innings maybe he'd be able to do it, but the pitch count whether he can go 50, 60, I don't know." Gorzelanny is expected to return to the bullpen after the start.

Brewers activated LHP Tom Gorzelanny from the 15-day disabled list. Gorzelanny has been sidelined since May 7 due to left shoulder tendinitis. He returns to a 2.30 ERA and 10/8 K/BB ratio over 15 2/3 innings.
