Souza went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, two walks, two stolen bases and two runs scored during Wednesday's win over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Souza did some damage with the bat and on the base paths against Jon Lester, and the outfielder is now up to an impressive 30 homers and 16 stolen bases. His .238/.345/.465 slash line is a little discouraging, but Souza has suited up for a career-high 141 games and moved the fantasy needle with his counting statistics.

Souza is out of the lineup Sunday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Since returning from a leg injury Sept. 12, Souza's performance at the plate has been dismal. Over the four games since he's gone 0-for-15 and struck out eight times. With Souza out Sunday, Peter Bourjos will start in right field and hit second.

Souza (leg) is batting fifth and starting in right field Tuesday against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Souza suffered a leg injury after crashing into the wall last Friday, but the 28-year-old is back in action after getting three games off to recover. Souza will look to turn things around now that he's back in the lineup, as he's slashing just .172/.284/.379 in 33 games since the beginning of August. He'll face Sonny Gray in his first game back.

Souza (leg) is out of the lineup Monday against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
For the third consecutive game, the Rays are holding Souza out of the lineup as he continues dealing with a leg injury. Peter Bourjos is starting in right field Monday with Souza out. It's unclear when Souza will be ready to return, but look for Mallex Smith and Bourjos to share time in the Rays' outfield until Souza is back in full health.

Souza (leg) is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Souza will be held out of the starting nine for the second consecutive game after suffering a leg injury during Friday's contest against the Red Sox. The Rays expect that Souza will return to the field this season, but it's unclear when he'll be healthy enough to do so. He'll continue to be a day-to-day case for the time being, with Mallex Smith drawing the start in right field Sunday.

Souza expected to return this season after an MRI on his left knee revealed no structural damage, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is encouraging news, as the test results seem to indicate Souza avoided a more serious injury after crashing into the wall while attempting to make a catch Friday night. While he isn't expected to miss the remainder of the season because of the bone bruise, Souza remains without a timetable for his return as he's still experiencing soreness. Mallex Smith and Peter Bourjos should benefit from some extra playing time while Souza remains sidelined.

Souza (leg) will not be in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Souza left Friday's game after crashing into the wall while trying to make a catch, and although the club has yet to reveal the extent of his injury, he may miss an extended period of time. The 28-year-old was unable to put any weight on his leg, and could potentially miss the rest of the season, unless he receives some good news from the doctors. In his place, Peter Bourjos will draw a start in right while Cesar Puello gets the nod in left.

Souza was unable to leave the field under his own power after he crashed into the wall trying to make a catch in foul territory in right field during Friday's game against the Red Sox, Fox Sports Florida reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Rays have not yet made an update on his status, but it looked like Souza was unable to put any weight on his left leg as he left the field. Consider him day-to-day until we hear more, but it's possible this is a serious injury, one that could end Souza's regular season (or worse).

Souza (neck) is starting in right field and batting fifth Monday against the Twins, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Souza won't end up missing any time after a collision at home plate forced him out of Monday's game with a sore neck and back. The 28-year-old is set to start his 18th straight game, a stretch over which he's hit an unremarkable .172/.274/.375.

Souza has a sore neck and back after a collision at the plate in the sixth inning of Tuesday's game against the Twins and is day-to-day, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Bay times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Souza was replaced by Peter Bourjos in the outfield the next inning. Considering the Rays were up 7-1 at the time, the Rays had little reason not to play it safe. Souza has played in 29 consecutive games, so a day off could be in the cards even if the injury is mild, but it's possible he could return Tuesday night.
