Pearce went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's loss to the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Occupying the leadoff spot in the order, Pearce did his job to set the table for the rest of the lineup until being lifted for a defensive replacement in the seventh inning. The 35-year-old has never hit above .300 over the course of a full season, but his average now sits at .314 to go along with an impressive .944 OPS.

Pearce is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against Kansas City, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pearce will receive an off day following a 3-for-5 night at the plate with a double and one RBI during Tuesday's victory. In his place, Curtis Granderson will DH while Teoscar Hernandez draws the start in left field.

Pearce is not in the lineup against Cleveland on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Pearce will occupy a spot on the bench as Curtis Granderson slides over to man the designated hitting duties for the series opener. Teoscar Hernandez, who was called up to replace the injured Josh Donaldson (shoulder) on the active roster, will get a start in left. Over 10 appearances this season, Pearce is hitting .214/.290/.571 with three home runs and five RBI.

Pearce went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Monday's win over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Pearce has now homered in three consecutive games. Two of those three have come against lefties and he continues to profile best on the short end of a platoon, but considering how much Randal Grichuk has struggled, it's reasonable to think Pearce could find his way into more time against right-handed pitching moving forward. He started Monday's game in right field.

Pearce went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Pearce was the lone bright spot in an otherwise dreary day at the plate for Toronto. The veteran took a full-count slider from Rangers' starter Mike Minor and deposited it in the left-field bleachers. Pearce's batting average on the season is just .214, but he could prove to be a cheap source of power, especially in on-base percentage leagues thanks to his normally high walk rates.

Pearce will bat out of the leadoff position and play left field against the Yankees on Saturday, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pearce is in the starting lineup for the first time this season, though he has appeared in both of Toronto's losses this series. Manager John Gibbons also described the club's plan for Devon Travis, which is to sit the second baseman every third game in order to keep him healthy. This will affect Pearce because in games that left-handers are on the hill and Travis retreats to the bench, he will serve out of the leadoff position. Against right-handers, Curtis Granderson will take on that role.

Pearce (calf) went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI in his return to action Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Pearce was diagnosed with a calf strain earlier in the month, but he wound up missing just under two weeks due to the issue. Now that he's healthy, he can resume his regular duties on the Blue Jays' roster acting as a utility man and platoon mate with Curtis Granderson in left field.

Pearce (calf) is scheduled to join the Blue Jays in Fort Myers, Fla. on Thursday ahead of the team's Grapefruit League game against the Red Sox, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
There's been no official word from manager John Gibbons that Pearce will play Thursday, but that seems like a realistic possibility after the outfielder was able to do some running on the field Sunday and Monday. Even if the Blue Jays err on the side of caution and hold Pearce out Thursday, he looks like a good bet to rejoin the lineup at some point over the weekend with his strained left calf considered mild. If healthy, Pearce looks in line to win a spot on the Opening Day roster, most likely serving as a short-side platoon mate with Curtis Granderson in left field.

Pearce (calf) ran on the field Sunday and is scheduled to do so again Monday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
If Pearce comes out of Monday's activity no worse for the wear, he should enter the Blue Jays' Grapefruit League lineup Thursday. Pearce looks on track to get in enough at-bats this spring to crack to the Blue Jays' Opening Day roster, but if the 34-year-old suffers a setback, Teoscar Hernandez looms as his top replacement in the Toronto outfield.

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said that Pearce will be out of the lineup for the next few days while battling a mild left calf strain, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gibbons suggested that Pearce's calf issue was mostly a byproduct of dehydration rather than something more concerning, but the Blue Jays will still take things slowly with 34-year-old, who was also slowed by a calf injury for a spell last season. Assuming Pearce incurs no major setbacks before Opening Day arrives, he projects to fill a short-side platoon role in the Toronto outfield.
