Pearce (shin) is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays, Sean McAdam of BostonSportsJournal.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pearce took a pitch to the shin Thursday, but X-rays were negative and the fact that the Red Sox held off on a DL move suggests Pearce could still make an appearance before the All-Star break. The 35-year-old has handled right-handed pitching well so far this season, but chances are, he will play primarily on the short side of a platoon in the second half.

Pearce (shin) is not in the lineup against Toronto on Friday, Evan Drellich of NBC Sports Boston reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pearce was forced to leave Thursday's contest a little while after getting struck by a pitch on his shin in his first plate appearance. Manager Alex Cora will give him some added rest, though he did escape the incident without any structural damage. Consider him day-to-day moving forward.

Pearce is day-to-day with a shin contusion after undergoing X-rays Thursday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Red Sox sent Pearce for X-rays after he was hit on the shin by a pitch that forced him from Thursday's matchup with the Blue Jays. Fortunately, X-rays came back negative and he's only dealing with a contusion, so a return to the lineup could be in the cards as early as Friday. If the Red Sox give Pearce an extra day off, Mitch Moreland would likely take back over at first base with J.D. Martinez digging in at DH.

Pearce (lower leg) exited Thursday's game against the Blue Jays in the third inning, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pearce was hit on the shin by a J.A. Happ offering in his first at-bat Thursday, and while he was initially able to stay in the game, the Red Sox have since replaced him with Blake Swihart at first-base. Pearce should be considered day-to-day until a further update on the severity of his injury is made available.

Pearce is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
This was expected after Pearce filled in for Mitch Moreland on Tuesday after he left that game due to back spasms. The right-handed hitting Pearce is 4-for-9 with a pair of doubles, a run scored and an RBI over three games since being acquired by Boston.

Pearce started at first base Friday and went 2-for-4 in an 8-1 loss to the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Pearce got the start in place of Mitch Moreland against a left-hander and laced a double on the first pitch he saw from CC Sabathia. The Red Sox acquired him this week to do exactly what he did Friday -- start against left-handers and spell Moreland, who has been used extensively since the Red Sox jettisoned Hanley Ramirez. Pearce can also play the outfield and could be used in situations where manager Alex Cora wants to sit one of his two lefty-hitting outfielders, Andrew Benintendi or Jackie Bradley.

Pearce was traded to the Red Sox on Thursday,Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Blue Jays will be getting minor league infielder Santiago Espinal in the deal. As for Pearce, he adds thump off the bench for the Red Sox as well as some defensive versatility considering his experience in both corner outfield spots along with first base. His main role figures to be as a short-side-of-the-platoon behind Mitch Moreland at first base thanks to his ability to hit lefties. Pearce is hitting .306 with two home runs in 49 at-bats against southpaws this season.

Pearce (oblique) was activated from the 10-day disabled list and will bat leadoff against the Angels on Friday, Mike Wilner of BlueJaysTalk reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pearce missed the past seven weeks with an oblique strain but as expected, he will be back in the lineup for Friday's tilt after appearing in a few minor-league games recently. Moving forward, look for Pearce to earn a majority of his playing time against southpaws, such as Andrew Heaney, who is on the mound for Los Angeles on Friday.

Pearce (oblique) will be activated off the 10-day disabled list Friday, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet 590 The Fan reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Blue Jays will be getting some power back on their bench with Pearce's imminent return. Pearce posted a .485 slugging percentage and a .212 ISO before landing on the disabled list with an oblique strain. It may be difficult for him to secure everyday playing time with Kendrys Morales dug in at DH and the Blue Jays carrying a crowded outfield corps.
