Cishek (1-1) gave up a hit and recorded a strikeout over a scoreless inning in Tuesday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Cishek turned in his second straight scoreless appearance and third over the last four trips to the mound. The 31-year-old has lowered his ERA from 6.23 to 4.35 over the six innings he's pitched in June as he continues to ramp up his workload following a mid-May season debut.

Cishek fired a scoreless ninth inning in Monday's 14-3 win over the Twins in which he recorded a strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
The 30-year-old reliever turned in his sixth scoreless appearance over his last seven trip to the mound and lowered his ERA from 4.91 to 4.32 in the process. Cishek has been used rather selectively by manager Scott Servais since getting a late start to his season due to hip surgery, often going up to five days between appearances. However, the former closer could be ramping up his workload, as he's already logged four one-inning outings in June.

Cishek notched his second hold in Wednesday's 5-0 win over the Rockies, firing a scoreless 1.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Cishek now has three straight scoreless outings after a May 16 outing against the Athletics in which he gave up three earned runs on just one-third of an inning. The 30-year-old right-hander could be hitting his stride after getting a late start to his season following offseason hip surgery, and manager Scott Servais appears to have intentions of affording him a solid workload; despite not making his debut until May 15, Cishek logged five appearances during the month, the last three which were at least an inning in length.

Cishek was charged with his first blown save of the season in Tuesday's loss to the A's. He gave up three runs on two hits (including a home run) and one walk in one-third of an inning.
EDGE Analysis
Thrust into a save situation in just his second appearance of the season, Cishek gave up a single and the go-ahead home run to the first two batters he faced. The Mariners are expected to mix and match in the later innings while Edwin Diaz works through some mechanical issues in lower-leverage spots, and while Cishek's closing experience seemed to give him a leg up on his competition, this performance may have set him back. Nick Vincent, Tony Zych, Marc Rzepczynski, and even Dan Altavilla and James Pazos, could be factors in the back-end mix as well.

Cishek could see save chances with Edwin Diaz removed from the closer role Tuesday, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Scott Servais has decided that Diaz needs a break from closing to work on his mechanics. The expectation is that the Mariners will mix and match in the later innings until Diaz gets right, using a combination of Cishek, Nick Vincent and Tony Zych at the back end of the bullpen. While Cishek has made just one appearance this season -- he opened the year on the DL following offseason hip surgery -- his experience closing games (120 career saves) may give him the edge in this new committee.

Cishek (hip) made his 2017 debut in Monday's 6-5 win over the Athletics, getting one out in the eighth inning.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran made his long-awaited debut and retired Khris Davis with a groundout on four pitches. Cishek's return is a welcome one, and given young closer Edwin Diaz's uneven performances, the former could potentially see some save opportunities as he stretches out and the season unfolds.

Cishek (hip) was activated from the 10-day disabled list Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Cishek has yet to appear in the big leagues this season after undergoing offseason hip surgery, but after a brief rehab stint, it seems like all systems are go for the 30-year-old. Last season, Cishek posted a 2.81 ERA with 25 saves for the Mariners, and he'll look to carry that success into a setup role for incumbent closer Edwin Diaz. To make room for him on the active roster, Zac Curtis was sent down to Double-A Arkansas.

Cishek (hip) fired a scoreless inning in Triple-A Tacoma's 8-2 win over Round Rock on Thursday, walking one and striking out two. He was credited with the victory.
EDGE Analysis
Cishek made a successful return to the mound after taking time off to work on his mechanics. He threw a total of 16 pitches, the most he'd logged in game action since an April 23 appearance. The former closer might notch just one more minor-league outing before potentially returning to the big-league club next week.

Cishek (hip) is set for a rehab appearance Thursday and could rejoin the club as soon as next week, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Scott Servais said that the Mariners plan on having Cishek make one more rehab appearance over the weekend before making making the next decision. The Mariners are beginning a seven-game home stand Monday, so the hope is that Cishek will be able to come off the DL during that stretch. Cishek will likely fill a seventh or eighth inning role upon his return.

Cishek (hip) returned to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday after taking a break for the last week to work on his delivery, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cishek focused on his mechanics with Mariners pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre, Jr. during his time off, following a total of five rehab appearances, including two starts, with Double-A Arkansas and Triple-A Tacoma. Cishek has given up two earned runs on five hits and three walks over four innings in the minors overall, and as per manager Scott Servais, is likely to get at least two more outings with the Rainiers before being activated.
