Stephen Pryor recently underwent surgery to re-attach his right lat.
It's the same procedure that Jake Peavy had a couple years ago, though Pryor's surgery wasn't as extensive. He's expected to need six months of recovery time, so he should be ready sometime during spring training.

Stephen Pryor has been shut down for the season after an MRI revealed a tear in his right triceps.
He'll receive a second opinion before the Mariners decide whether he needs surgery. Pryor has been on the disabled list since mid-April due to a lat issue and will finish the season having only appeared in seven games. He should be fine for spring training.

Stephen Pryor (lat) is expected to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Low-A Everett.
Pryor, on the disabled list since mid-April, was cleared after making it through a simulated game on Saturday. "We're going to send him out this week," manager Eric Wedge said. "We need to give him some time, but he's looked good the last couple outings."

Mariners transferred RHP Stephen Pryor from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
Pryor now won't be eligible to return until mid-June, but he wasn't going to be ready before then, anyway. The hard-thrower recently resumed his throwing program but has yet to test things out from a mound.

Stephen Pryor (lat) resumed throwing this past week.
Pryor has played short catch from 45 feet three times. He's recovering slower than expected from a lat strain but is hoping to throw from a mound before long. "I'm kind of testing the waters to see how it feels," Pryor said. "Then we'll lengthen it out as far as distance and amount, and I'll see how I hold up. Then I'll get on the mound from there."

Mariners manager Eric Wedge said Stephen Pryor (lat) "is making good progress, but it's still going to be a while."
Pryor is coming back from a strained side muscle, which he suffered on April 14. "Being such a big guy and how he throws, it's going to be a while," Wedge added. It's not clear when the right-hander might be ready for a rehab assignment.

It's good news, though the Mariners still aren't sure how long the reliever might be sidelined. Pryor was off to a terrific start before getting injured, having tossed 7 1/3 scoreless innings while striking out seven.
