Sean Newcomb Rocked In Milwaukee On Sunday rotoballer.com Sun 7/8/18 2:11 PM
This is not how Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Sean Newcomb wanted to be pitching with the All-Star Game a little over a week away. He didn't help his cause on Sunday, lasting only 3 2/3 innings, giving up five runs, all earned, while walking four and striking out three. His ERA is now 3.44 and he's got one more start against the Arizona Diamondbacks before the break. Tread carefully.
Sean Newcomb Has Rough Outing Vs. Yankees rotoballer.com Tue 7/3/18 7:35 PM
It may have been the heat dome on Tuesday, but Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Sean Newcomb did not look effective. When he left the game after 2 2/3 innings, having surrendered five runs on three hits, his uniform was soaked in sweat. Part of that might have been from nerves about his facing the Yankees, but it was likely the heavy humidity. His next start will be in Milwaukee, where the roof should protect him from any heat. Keep him in your lineup.

Welcome to our surprising starts series. Every week we'll be going over a few surprising starting pitcher performances around the majors to determine whether these starts were smoke and mirrors or something more.
This week we saw some great performances over the weekend from three young pitchers. Max Fried utterly dominated the Cardinals for 11 strikeouts, German Marquez twirled a gem at Dodger Stadium, and Brad Keller allowed just one earned run total in a two-start week.

Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Sean Newcomb left the game after six innings with a 5-3 lead on Wednesday. When the game was over, Atlanta had lost to the Reds 6-5, courtesy of another bullpen implosion due to the lack of closer Arodys Vizcaino. Newcomb, who gave up three runs while striking out six and walking two, was solid. He'll make his next start at Yankee Stadium, which might be a good time to sit him.

Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Sean Newcomb, who has been a really pleasant surprise for the team this season, rebounded quite nicely from his three-inning disaster against Boston on May 26. His Thursday night outing saw him go seven innings, and while he didn't post any gaudy strikeout numbers - he had all of two - he gave up two runs on four hits. He's got a great 6-1 record along with a 2.73 ERA. Next up: A start in San Diego. Put him in your lineup that day.

Atlanta Braves pitcher Sean Newcomb, a native of Brockton, Mass., didn't have a good homecoming. He lasted only three innings, throwing 88 pitches in that span. He struck out four and walked four while giving up three runs. He'll next face the Mets, who have been scuffling, so he's a good start.
Sean Newcomb Twirls Six Fantastic Innings In 1-0 Win Over Rays rotoballer.com Tue 5/8/18 6:24 PM
I needed to write about Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Sean Newcomb after the disgusting start Dylan Bundy had. Newcomb's stellar six innings on Tuesday was a refreshing drink to imbibe after the bitterness that was Bundy. The lefty gave up a mere two hits while striking out six. He did walk three but he was never truly threatened. Newcomb is now 3-1 and his 2.88 is very nice, indeed. He'll likely face the Marlins next, so he should be in your lineup.

Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Sean Newcomb may have made Mets fans think back to those years in the late 1990s-early 2000s when they couldn't solve Atlanta pitching to save their lives. He went seven innings, striking out eight and walking none. Newcomb was pretty economical too, leaving the game with under 100 pitches thrown. He's now got a 3.38 ERA. The lefty will likely kick off the first of two games in Tampa Bay. Start him.
Sean Newcomb Goes Six Innings But Winds Up With No-Decision As Brav... rotoballer.com Thu 4/26/18 7:05 PM
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Sean Newcomb had a decent start against the Reds on April 26 as far as pitching in Cincinnati's tiny stadium. He gave up four runs over six innings while striking out seven. Atlanta and the Reds were tied at four when he departed, so he was not involved in the decision. His ERA is at 4.23, and he's likely going to face the Mets at Citi Field for his next start. Flip a coin.
