Making his pitching debut, Ryan Raburn pitched a perfect ninth inning Thursday in the 10-3 loss to the Tigers.
That two-year, $4.85 million extension looks like a big bargain if Raburn proves to be a valuable reliever, too. OK, probably not. But he didn't look bad with his mid-80s heater tonight. He even struck out Matt Tuiasosopo to end his inning.

Indians signed INF/OF Ryan Raburn to a two-year extension with a club option for 2016.
ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the deal is worth $4.85 million guaranteed. After making the Indians on a minor league deal, Raburn has surprised this season with a .277/.370/.565 batting line and 13 home runs over 211 plate appearances. And now he has carved out a long-term place with the club.

Ryan Raburn smacked two home runs Thursday in the Indians' 6-1 defeat of the visiting White Sox.
Raburn hit a two-run shot to right field in the bottom of the third inning and a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the seventh. He also managed to squeeze in an RBI single in the fifth, finishing the afternoon 3-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI. The 32-year-old outfielder has been highly productive in limited action this year and should maintain sneaky fantasy value down the stretch.

Raburn finished the night 2-for-6 with a pair of runs scored and three RBI. He's done a very nice job in a utility role with the Tribe this season, hitting .273/.371/.553 with 11 homers and 31 RBI in 161 at-bats. With his multi-position eligibility, he can be a very useful player in deeper mixed leagues.

Ryan Raburn homered and walked in Friday's win over the Nationals.
The fourth-inning solo blast was his eighth home run of the season and his third in his past five games. The 32-year-old doesn't have an everyday role, but he has been an excellent bargain for the Indians after batting just .171 with one homer in 66 games with the division-rival Tigers last year.
