Feltner (head) has been discharged from the hospital.
EDGE Analysis
Feltner was placed on the injured list Sunday after he was struck in the head by a line drive off the bat off Nick Castellanos and diagnosed with a small skull fracture and a concussion. Feltner remains without a return timeline, but it's obviously a positive development that the right-hander was able to be discharged from the hospital while not needing to undergo surgery.

The Rockies placed Feltner on the 15-day injured list Sunday after he was diagnosed with a small skull fracture and a concussion, Jenny Cavnar of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain reports.
EDGE Analysis
The move to the IL comes after Feltner departed in the second inning of his start in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Phillies when he was struck in the head by a Nick Castellanos line drive. According to Cavnar, manager Bud Black said that Feltner remains hospitalized but is expected to be discharged later Sunday. The right-hander will likely remain without a clear timeline for a return until he makes enough progress in his recovery from the skull fracture and concussion to resume a throwing program.

Rockies manager Bud Black told reporters that Feltner is under observation at the hospital and being evaluated after being hit in the head by a line drive during Saturday's game against the Phillies, Jenny Cavnar of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain reports.
EDGE Analysis
Black also mentioned that the team will receive more information on Feltner's status in the morning. The injury occurred when Nick Castellanos hit a line shot that directly connected with Feltner's head in the second inning, and while he did walk off under his own power with trainers, he was unable to continue. It's very likely that the right-hander will be placed in the concussion protocol.

Feltner left Saturday's appearance against the Phillies after being hit in the head in the second inning, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. He allowed four runs in 1.2 innings before exiting.
EDGE Analysis
Feltner took a comebacker directly to his head and immediately left the contest. Peter Lambert took over on the mound. One positive development is that Feltner was able to leave on his own after visiting with the training staff, but he'll obviously need to undergo testing and likely clear the concussion protocol before he's ready to return to the mound.

Feltner did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing four runs on four hits and six walks over 3.1 innings during a 13-6 win over the Mets. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Feltner walked the first two batters he faced and ultimately surrendered three first-inning runs. He struggled with his command all game long and was pulled with one out in the fourth after plunking Brandon Nimmo and walking Francisco Lindor to load the bases. Feltner struggled to start the season, allowing 13 runs in 13.1 innings with a 15:11 K:BB over his first three outings, but he had been sharp since, surrendering just two earned runs in 17 innings with a 15:4 K:BB across his past three appearances. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for a three-game weekend set versus Philadelphia.

Feltner (2-2) picked up the win in Tuesday's 5-1 victory over the Guardians. allowing one unearned run on five hits over six innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander didn't give up an earned run for the second straight outing while recording his first quality start of the season. Feltner also didn't issue a free pass for the first time in five starts as he fired 60 of 82 pitches for strikes. Despite the strong recent performances, he still carries a 4.68 ERA and 1.48 WHIP, and that's with four of his five starts so far coming on the road. Feltner's next turn in the rotation lines up for a Coors Field start next week against the Brewers.

Feltner (1-2) earned the win over Philadelphia on Thursday, pitching 5.2 scoreless innings during which he gave up three hits and three walks while striking out six batters.
EDGE Analysis
Feltner had a rough go his previous trip to the mound, giving up five runs in 3.2 innings. He rebounded nicely Thursday, falling one out shy of a quality start and keeping the Phillies off the scoreboard. He struggled with his control again, issuing exactly three free passes for the third straight game, but balanced that by giving up just three hits, all of which were singles. Feltner has shown some decent strikeout stuff this season with 21 punchouts across 19 frames, but it's hard to be optimistic about his chances for sustained success given that he's also handed out 14 walks. Getting a better handle on his control will be key for the right-hander to further improve upon his 6.16 ERA.

Feltner (0-2) took the loss against Seattle on Saturday, allowing five runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five batters over 3.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Feltner made it through three frames without allowing any damage on the scoreboard, but the fourth proved disastrous for him. The right-hander served up a solo homer to Eugenio Suarez to begin the inning and allowed five more baserunners in the frame, four of whom came around to score. The crushing blow was a two-out triple by Julio Rodriguez that plated three runs. Feltner has struggled so far this season, allowing 13 runs while posting a 15:11 K:BB over 13.1 frames. He's walked at least three batters in all three starts so far.

Through two outings this season, he's given up eight runs with a 10:8 K:BB through 9.2 frames. The 26-year-old righty forced nine whiffs on 90 pitches Sunday.
