Brasier was charged with a blown save in Wednesday's loss to the Yankees as he gave up a grand slam. He allowed one earned run on one hit with two strikeouts over two-thirds of an inning.
EDGE Analysis
Brasier entered in a tough spot during the seventh inning with the bases loaded and only one out, but looked to be in decent shape with an 0-2 count on Brett Gardner before giving up the grand slam. The right-hander was unlikely to complete the game Wednesday given how early he came in, but nonetheless gets charged with the blown save. Brasier still has a 2.16 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, 8:2 K:BB and three converted saves over 8.1 innings.

Brasier entered Sunday's game in the eighth inning with Boston leading 1-0 and worked around a walk and a hit in scoreless inning.
EDGE Analysis
Brasier has closed out three games this season, but Matt Barnes was positioned to get the save in this one. The Red Sox scored three times in the bottom of the eighth, so no save was credited, but it does did shed some light on manager Alex Cora's planned usage. Starter David Price was allowed to pitch out of a minor jam in the seventh inning and got Boston into the eighth with the lead. That meant Cora did not have to burn Barnes early to squelch a budding threat, and the manager had Brasier enter to set up the potential save for Barnes. Both relievers are expected to get save chances going forward, with game circumstances dictating which one will be positioned for the save. Cora clearly believes Barnes is his top guy for late-inning, pivotal situations regardless of the inning.

Brasier recorded the final two outs Friday night against the Orioles to get his third save of the season.
EDGE Analysis
Brasier had to warm up in a hurry to get the last two outs after Tyler Thornburg turned a 6-2 lead into a 6-4 lead by allowing a two-run homer. But this wasn't all a fluke that Brasier was around to get the save - the Red Sox used Matt Barnes to finish the seventh inning.

Brasier tossed a scoreless ninth inning, allowing a hit while striking out one batter and earning the save in Sunday's 1-0 victory against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Matt Barnes took the seventh and eighth inning duties Sunday while Brasier was relied on to shut things down. It's looking more like Barnes will be used in high-leverage situations rather than strictly closing games. This would give Brasier more opportunities in the ninth inning and he should be worth a speculative add in all formats.

Brasier pitched a clean ninth inning to pick up the save in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Alex Cora used Matt Barnes in the seventh inning of a tie game to get a big out against slugger Khris Davis, clearing the way for Brasier to pick up his first save after Boston went ahead in the top of the ninth. If Cora continues to use Barnes in high-leverage, non-save situations, Brasier will be in line for a handful of save opportunities in 2019.

Brasier (toe) allowed a run on two hits and struck out one in an inning Saturday against the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
The outing marked Brasier's spring debut after being sidelined by a toe infection since early in camp. According to manager Alex Cora, Brasier will be on a program where he pitches every two days, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports. That should give him enough time to get ready for Opening Day. Brasier is a candidate to be the closer or share the role with Matt Barnes. At the very least, he'll be a high-leverage arm for Cora.

Brasier (toe) threw his first batting-practice session prior to Wednesday's game against the Twins, Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brasier, who's been bothered by a toe infection during spring training, could appear in a game this week. Manager Alex Cora played down the late start to game action but acknowledged the reliever will need to catch up in in the last week of spring training. With Boston's closer job available, and Matt Barnes' shaky first two spring outings, Brasier is being closely watched.

Manager Alex Cora said Brasier (toe) will see game action "toward the end of the week," Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Red Sox have a couple of long bus rides Thursday and Friday, and it would be surprising if they sent Brasier on the road for his spring debut, particularly Friday against the AL East rival Yankees. The Sox are home at Fort Myers on Saturday against the Braves.

Brasier (toe) threw a bullpen session Thursday and is in line to play in a game next week, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brasier is working his way back from a toe infection, and the Red Sox hope he can be ready for the start of the regular season. He and Matt Barnes are the primary candidates to replace closer Craig Kimbrel this season.

Brasier (toe) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Thursday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The activity represents another step forward for Brasier as he works to recover from a right toe infection that has delayed his Grapefruit League debut. Manager Alex Cora recently expressed optimism that Brasier would be ready to go for Opening Day, but the right-hander's limited game action leading up to the start of the season could hurt his chances of claiming the closer's role left vacant by Craig Kimbrel's departure.
