Gsellman struck out one in a perfect seventh inning during Wednesday's win over the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
With his team in a 1-0 hole, Gsellman breezed through the bottom of the Nats' order on seven pitches (five strikes). The right-hander has turned in eight straight scoreless appearances, posting a 12:5 K:BB over 12 innings during that stretch, and he now sports a 2.48 ERA and 1.17 WHIP on the season. Gsellman isn't seeing the highest-leverage work -- he has zero wins or saves and only three holds through 21 appearances -- but his current form could move him into the setup crew for the Mets in the near future.

Gsellman recorded the final two outs in the eighth inning to record his second hold of the season in Friday's win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander remains part of the setup mix in front of closer Edwin Diaz, although he's behind Jeurys Familia and Seth Lugo in the pecking order. Encouragingly, Gsellman's averaging a career-high 95.7 mph with his fastball, and his 3.27 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 13:2 K:BB through 11 innings give him some fantasy value in formats where high-K relievers are worth rostering.

Gsellman gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless inning of relief during Sunday's loss to the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was effective in this one, but he's been tagged for runs in three of his five appearances so far. More encouraging is his 5:0 K:BB through five innings -- if Gsellman continues to command the strike zone in that fashion, he'll quickly chip away at his 5.40 ERA and position himself for a key role in the Mets' bullpen.

Gsellman tossed a perfect inning of relief in Friday's Grapefruit League game against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
While the right-hander has a superficially solid 3.52 ERA and 1.04 WHIP through 7.2 spring innings, Gsellman's 2:1 K:BB is disappointing. After posting a career-high 13 saves and 16 holds last season, he's expected to fill a middle-relief role in 2019 behind Edwin Diaz and Jeurys Familia in the bullpen pecking order.

Gsellman is not in contention for a rotation spot this spring, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Mickey Callaway said Wednesday that Jason Vargas will be the team's fifth starter and that there will be no competition for the job, contradicting reports from earlier in the winter. Gsellman could still be a starting candidate down the road, however, as a number of Mets' starters have significant injury histories. He could also move back into the mix should the 36-year-old Vargas be unable to improve on the 5.77 ERA he posted last season.

General manager Brodie Van Wagenen said Gsellman will be a rotation option for the Mets in 2019, Matt Ehalt of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gsellman transitioned to a relief role in 2018, posting a 4.28 ERA and 70:28 K:BB across 80.0 innings out of the bullpen, but it sounds like the right-hander could get another look in the rotation next season. That said, the 25-year-old has struggled as a starter at the big-league level, notching a career 4.60 ERA and 118:53 K:B in 29 starts (156.2 innings), so he seems more likely to return to the bullpen in 2019.

Manager Mickey Callaway said Gsellman will not pitch this weekend due to his workload throughout the 2018 season, Mike Puma of The New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gsellman will end the campaign at exactly 80 innings pitched with a 4.28 ERA and 1.30 WHIP. He accumulated 13 saves, including eight since the start of August. The 25-year-old finished the season with a save against Atlanta on Thursday. In additional, Seth Lugo will also be shut down from pitching this week. If the Mets wind up in a save situation, look for Anthony Swarzak to close.

Gsellman struck out one while earning the save Thursday, hitting a batter and allowing a hit in a scoreless inning in the win over Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old allowed a leadoff single to Kurt Suzuki and later hit Adam Duvall but managed to finish off the game before giving up a run. Gsellman is now 13-for-20 in save chances and has been anything but consistent this season for the Mets.

Gsellman (6-2) picked up his 11th save of the season in Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Marlins. He allowed one walk and collected one strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
Gsellman allowed a two-out walk to Derek Dietrich, but it was an otherwise clean inning of work. He's now picked up three saves in the month of September, but he's also allowed at least one earned run in four of his last six appearances. His ERA sits at 4.03 with 66 strikeouts over 76 innings this season.

Gsellman registered his ninth save of the season Saturday, working a scoreless inning with a strikeout to wrap up the Mets' extra-innings victory over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Gsellman checked off a 1-2-3 11th in his second appearance following a recent bout with strep throat. He's the Mets' primary closing option as they play out the rest of a lost 2018 season. He hasn't allowed a run in 11 of his past 12 appearances, and if he puts together a strong finish to this campaign -- in which he's put together a 3.77 ERA and eight saves -- he'll likely enter 2019 as the best bet to close out games, barring other high-impact back-end acquisitions. The 25-year-old has one more year of team control before entering his first offseason of arbitration in 2020.
