Moronta allowed a hit and two walks while striking out two over a scoreless inning in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Moronta got into a bit of trouble after loading the bases in the seventh, but he got out of his own jam with a huge strikeout to end the inning. The flamethrowing righty owns a 3.29 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 13.5 K/9 through 27.1 innings.

Moronta (1-4) took the loss after giving up a run on three hits and a walk while striking out four over two innings against the Braves on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Moronta was tasked with holding off a powerful Braves lineup in extra innings, but he ultimately fell short. The four punchouts were surprisingly not the flamethrower's highest total of the season, as he struck out a career-high five batters Opening Day. Moronta has hit a bit of a rough patch over his last five outings (8.59 ERA), but part of that can be attributed to manager Bruce Bochy asking him to go more than one inning in three of his last four appearances. The 26-year-old owns a modest 3.86 ERA through 23.1 innings.

Moronta gave up one hit and struck out two over a scoreless inning in Sunday's 11-5 loss to the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Moronta got off to a slow start this season, but he has since strung together seven scoreless outings with a 13:2 K:BB ratio over that span. The hard-throwing righty has added a changeup (10.1 percent) to his repertoire this offseason, giving him an effective weapon to combat left-handed bats. Moronta's stock was already rising heading into the year, but this new pitch development could raise his ceiling even more. He remains a holds leagues option for the time being.

Moronta gave up one run (a solo home run) on two hits over an inning Monday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Moronta was charged with just one run, but he also allowed Madison Bumgarner's final run to cross home, failing to protect a one-run lead for the Giants. The 2018 standout already has two blown holds through four outings, going 2-for-4 in hold opportunities overall. Moronta has maintained his elevated strikeout rate from a year ago (13.5 K/9), and his ERA is unlikely to stay at its current 5.79 mark.

Moronta fired two scoreless innings while giving up one hit and striking out five in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Moronta inherited a rough situation with two on and no outs in the seventh, but he powered his way through the heart of the Padres' order to nab his first hold of the year. The 26-year-old stayed in for the eighth and set a new career high in strikeouts with five over two frames. Moronta was one of the Giants' biggest surprises last season behind Saturday's starter Dereck Rodriguez, and his first appearance is a great sign for a follow-up performance.

Moronta has given up a run and struck out three over two innings this spring.
EDGE Analysis
Moronta was one of the few pleasant surprises in San Francisco last season, breaking out to the tune of a 2.49 ERA and 10.9 K/9 over 65 innings. The 26-year-old did carry an ugly 5.1 BB/9, which is the biggest red flag in regards to whether or not he can replicate last year's ERA in his sophomore campaign. Moronta will be one of several hard-throwing righties lined up behind closer Will Smith to begin the year, and would certainly be in the conversation to replace Smith should anything happen to the closer at any point this season.

Moronta fired a clean inning with a strikeout in Thursday's loss to the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Not a whole lot went right for the Giants' bullpen Thursday, but Moronta was one of the few bright spots. The 25-year-old rookie now owns a 1.72 ERA and 10.5 K/9 through 52.1 innings after earning a spot in the bullpen this spring. Moronta continues to skate by with a lofty walk rate (5.0 BB/9), but his mid to high-90s fastball and an ability to limit homers (0.3 HR/9) have helped offset his erratic pitching style.

Moronta picked up his first save of the season Wednesday, striking out the only batter he faced in the win against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Sam Dyson started the ninth inning tasked with protecting a three-run lead, but he allowed a pair of runs and exited with runners on first and second before Moronta locked down the win. Even with regular closer Hunter Strickland (hand) on the disabled list, Moronta likely remains behind Dyson and Tony Watson (who had already appeared in Wednesday's game) in the pecking order for saves, but the 25-year-old has an impressive 1.91 ERA and could be an option down the line if Strickland's replacements continue to struggle.

Moronta gave up a run on two hits while striking out two over two-thirds of an inning in a loss to Houston on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
It was a rare rough outing for the rookie this season, as evidenced by his 1.66 ERA and 10.0 K/9 over 21.2 innings. Moronta's lack of control (5.8 BB/9) is the main reason his 3.52 FIP is nearly two runs higher than his ERA. The hard-throwing righty will continue to serve as one of manager Bruce Bochy's more-reliable middle relievers.

Moronta walked one and struck out one over a scoreless inning in Sunday's 4-2 victory over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
The scoreless outing lowered Moronta's ERA to 0.75 over 12 innings. The hard-throwing righty has struck out a batter per inning, but his lack of control (6.0 BB/9) has resulted in a 4.28 FIP. The 25-year-old's ERA is unlikely to remain below 1.00, but his early success could result in higher-leverage situations going forward if Sam Dyson and Cory Gearrin continue to struggle.
