Yankees optioned SS Ramiro Pena to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre; reassigned OF Colin Curtis, RHP Manny Delcarmen, OF Cole Garner, C Jose Gil and RHP Kevin Whelan to minor league camp. The Phillies are interested in dealing for Pena, a scenario that would likely land him on an Opening Day roster. New York's injury-plagued bullpen may eventually need Delcarmen or Whelan, while the rest will function as organizational depth this year.

The Phillies are interested in acquiring Yankees infielder Ramiro Pena, according to George A. King III of the New York Post. Philadelphia is on the hunt for infield depth. Chase Utley is sidelined with no timetable to return and Freddy Galvis will start at second until he makes it back. Chris Getz is off the market, because he is in the hunt for Kansas City's starting second base job. Pena would be a decent fallback option for the Phillies if New York is willing to part with him.

But he felt better after the game and should be back near 100 percent health by the start of the regular season.
