Sandoval allowed two runs on four hits and four walks over 4.2 innings in Sunday's loss to the Phillies. He struck out four and did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Sandoval escaped two separate bases-loaded threats through four scoreless frames but his luck finally ran out in the fifth. He coughed up a pair of runs before leaving the game during that inning. His four walks tied a season high and he now owns a 46:24 K:BB alongside a 2.81 ERA through nine starts. Sandoval is lined up to face the Mets at home next week.

Sandoval allowed six runs (five earned) on five hits and three walks with four strikeouts in three innings in a no-decision versus the Blue Jays on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Neither Sandoval nor Blue Jays starter Jose Berrios pitched past the third inning in this contest. Sandoval allowed a two-run double to Lourdes Gurriel in the second inning and then yielded four more runs in the third before turning the ball over the to bullpen. This was the southpaw's worst start of the year, but he can be given a pass -- he still has a solid 2.70 ERA despite a 1.27 WHIP and 42:20 K:BB through 43.1 innings in his eight appearances. He'll try to shake off this bad outing next weekend in Philadelphia.

Sandoval (3-1) earned the win, striking out seven in 7.1 innings and allowing one run on four hits and a walk in a 4-1 victory Sunday over Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
Sandoval cruised through the first seven innings, scattering two singles and needing just 82 pitches to complete the frames. In the eighth, however, he allowed a run on two hits and a walk before being removed after retiring one batter. The 25-year-old is off to a phenomenal start with a 1.79 through 40.1 innings. The one knock against him in his first six outings was a less-than-stellar 31-16 K:BB but that rate was improved as he only issued a free pass to one batter Sunday. His next start will likely be next weekend against Toronto.

Sandoval (2-1) earned the win during Sunday's 4-1 victory over Oakland, allowing one run on four hits and four walks with four strikeouts in 6.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Sandoval was spotted a two-run lead before he took the mound and cruised for the most part after escaping a bases-loaded jam in the first inning. The 25-year-old got back on track following two decent outings, though he's now walked at least three batters in three straight outings. A 3.76 xFIP compared to a 1.91 ERA indicates Sandoval has overperformed -- the main culprit being a high 10.7 percent walk rate -- though he's proven to be one of Los Angeles' best full-time starters and should continue to produce, especially with a rematch against Oakland on tap for next weekend.

Sandoval allowed three runs on seven hits and three walks in 5.2 innings in a 5-4 win Sunday over Washington. He struck out five and did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Sandoval pitched fairly well through the first five innings, allowing just one run and pitching around trouble. In the sixth, he allowed three singles and a sacrifice fly before being removed. The lefty has a 1.28 WHIP on the season, identical to his career rate. However, his 2.03 ERA is about half of his career 4.08 ERA, suggesting he may be the beneficiary of some good luck in the first month of the season.

Sandoval (1-1) got the loss Monday after pitching six innings, giving up three runs on six hits and three walks while striking out two versus the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Sandoval surrender his first earned runs of the season Monday, ending his scoreless outing streak at three. The White Sox scratched across two runs in the first inning and then Adam Engel doubled in Jose Abreu in the sixth, accounting for the final run on Sandoval's line. The 25-year-old now sports a 1.29 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 22 punchouts over 21 innings this season. Sandoval tentatively lines up to face the Nationals on Sunday.

Sandoval brought his best stuff Tuesday, limiting Cleveland to three baserunners and retiring 12 straight at one point. The 25-year-old fired 59 of 90 pitches for strikes and is yet to surrender a run during 15 innings across three starts, all Halos wins. Sandoval struck out five in four innings, allowing one unearned run on four hits and two walks in a 7-2 win Tuesday in Houston. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Sandoval got through the first two innings on just 26 pitches but needed 59 pitches to get through the next two frames. Despite his inefficiency, the lefty managed to pitch out of trouble and left the game with a 7-1 lead. In both of his starts this season he has pitched four innings and allowed one unearned run. With the Angels currently using six starters, his next scheduled start is Monday against Cleveland.

Sandoval didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Marlins, allowing one unearned run over four innings on three hits and three walks. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
The first outing of the season was a mixed bag for Sandoval, as the southpaw tossed only 40 of 71 pitches for strikes, and after striking out the side in the first inning, he had trouble keeping the bases clear. Sandoval faces a tougher test in his next scheduled start Tuesday, on the road in Houston.

Sandoval is having his first start of the season pushed back to Tuesday against the Marlins, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sandoval was originally slated to start Friday against the Astros, though he's flipping spots in the rotation with Reid Detmers. Sandoval's 2021 campaign ended prematurely due to a back injury, though he claims that the decision to push him back is unrelated. Instead, he needs more time to stretch out prior to his initial start of the regular season. Assuming Sandoval is healthy enough to take his newly scheduled turn through the rotation, he could benefit with a better matchup against Miami as opposed to Houston.
