The 35-year-old outfielder will finish with a .253/.361/.472 career batting line, 292 career home runs and 976 career RBI. He played for the Phillies, Rays and Giants.

The 35-year-old free agent has been plagued by a chronic right foot injury since 2010 and is no longer a reliable bench player. Burrell, if he's truly done, will finish up with a .253/.361/.472 career batting line.

In the lineup for the first time since Sept. 3, Pat Burrell went 1-for-3 before being removed from Wednesday's game against the Rockies.
Burrell had been 0-for-7 this month, so it's nice to see him finish off the season, and maybe his career, with one hit. His foot problems have left his future up in the air. He's physically capable of serving as a DH, but since he was such a failure with the Rays in that role, it's probably not an option.

Pat Burrell will start in left field in Wednesday's season finale against the Rockies.
Burrell hasn't played the field since September 3 due to a chronic strain to his right foot, but acknowledged Tuesday that he wanted to play because Wednesday could be his final game in the big leagues. "I don't know what's going to happen next year, and if there was something at stake, I wouldn't ask," said Burrell. "Now that we're winding down, I kind of politicked my way into it." Burrell, 34, has a .253 lifetime batting average to go along with 292 home runs and 976 RBI.

Pat Burrell (foot) is considered day-to-day and is available to pinch-hit Sunday.
Burrell had to exit Saturday's game due to his nagging foot ailment. He's a poor bet to play much down the stretch.

Pat Burrell was removed from Saturday's game with a sore right foot.
It's the same foot that shelved Burrell for part of July and all of August. In his first start since coming off the disabled list, he could not make it past the third inning. The Giants may have to shut him down again.

Pat Burrell (foot) went 2-for-4 with two singles and an RBI in his first minor league rehab game with High-A San Jose on Wednesday.
Burrell, who is currently rehabbing from a bone spur in his right foot, served as the designated hitter. He is scheduled to take the day off Thursday before DH-ing again Friday. It's still no sure thing that he'll be able to play through the pain and even if he does, he will likely just be a right-handed bat off the bench in September.
