Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com hears that the Orioles could still interview Rangers assistant general manager Thad Levine for their general manager vacancy. Kubatko hears that it would be a surprise if they "go in that direction," which likely means that they hope to make a decision before the end of the World Series. The Orioles have already interviewed Arizona's Jerry DiPoto and are scheduled to meet with Toronto's Tony LaCava on Wednesday.

The Orioles have yet to seek permission from the Mets to speak with J.P. Ricciardi about their vacant General Manager position, according to Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com ESPN's Buster Olney reported earlier this week that Riccairdi was on Baltimore's short list of general manager candidates but the Mets have not received any requests by teams wishing to speaking to Ricciardi or Paul DePodesta. Ricciardi served as general manager of the Blue Jays from 2002-2009. Toronto would post five winning records over that span although none of his teams would reach the playoffs.
