Feliz was placed on the paternity list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran reliever will step away to attend to the birth of his third child, allowing Miguel Almonte to be recalled as his replacement in the bullpen. Feliz owns a 2.57 ERA since being acquired by the Royals in June, mainly serving as a setup man behind Joakim Soria and closer Kelvin Herrera. He'll miss three days at the most.

Feliz agreed to terms with the Royals on Thursday, FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports.
EDGE Analysis
The deal is still pending a physical, but all signs point to Feliz joining up with the Royals. Feliz was recently designated for assignment and released by the Brewers after a rough start to the year in which he worked a 6.00 ERA over 27.0 innings. Still, Feliz is just 29-years-old with a solid track record and an electric fastball that sits in the mid-to-high 90s. A move to a more pitcher-friendly ballpark ought to benefit Feliz's fantasy prospects, but unless the Royals move one of their high-leverage relievers, he's unlikely to see much in the way of save or hold opportunities.

Feliz was released by the Brewers on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
After clearing waivers, Feliz was let go by Milwaukee as the veteran reliever was unlikely to accept a minor-league assignment. The 29-year-old struggled to find success with the Brewers this season, compiling a 6.00 ERA and 21:15 K:BB across 27 innings. Although no team was willing to claim what was left of his $5.25 million contract, he'll likely catch on elsewhere for cheaper given his previous major-league experience.

Feliz was designated for assignment by the Brewers on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Brewers were incredibly patient with the struggling reliever all season, as he struggled to the tune of a 6.00 ERA and a 21:15 K:BB for the first-place team. He was usurped as the team's closer in mid-May, although he didn't improve much following his demotion, leading the team to finally cast him off the 40-man roster. Feliz has an electric arm and plenty of major-league experience, which could attract a lot of interest from other clubs while he's exposed to waivers. However, if he clears waivers, it's hard to see him accepting an assignment to the minors given how much time he's spent in the big leagues over the past few years.

Feliz tossed an inning and allowed an earned run in the Brewers' loss to the Cardinals in Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader.
EDGE Analysis
Feliz is really struggling of late, giving up five earned runs in 4.0 innings over his last five appearances, and his usage has been limited to mop-up duty: he has appeared in just one game the Brewers have won since May 15. If he does not turn things around he could force the Brewers into making a roster move.

Feliz tossed two perfect innings of relief in Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Tuesday's contest was only the third Feliz has appeared in since he ceded the closer's role May 12, but it represented a step in the right direction, as it was the first outing he did not allow a runner to reach base since April 26 -- a streak of 10 straight appearances. While Feliz has things turned back in the right direction, he was summoned Tuesday with the Brewers behind on the scoreboard, so he figures to keep working in middle relief for the time being.

Feliz is no longer the closer for the Brewers, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Feliz's disastrous outing Thursday afternoon marked his fourth loss of the season and raised his ERA to 6.19, which apparently was the last straw for manager Craig Counsell. The Brewers' skipper reportedly plans to mix up who closes out games moving forward, but Corey Knebel and Jacob Barnes seem like logical choices given their strong showings thus far. Feliz may still be able to reclaim the role later in the season if he turns things around in a lower-leverage role, but for the time being, he'll work on improving his command in earlier innings.

Feliz (0-4) allowed a three-run home run in the top of the ninth inning during Thursday's loss to Boston.
EDGE Analysis
With another poor outing, Feliz's closing leash is probably shorter than ever. He's had serious problems with the long ball and owns a 21.7 HR/FB rate and allowed 2.8 HR/9 and currently sports a crippling 6.19 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. Corey Knebel is probably next in line for save opportunities if Feliz continues to struggle, and it's not out of the question to speculative add Knebel now.

Feliz got the final three outs of Wednesday's 7-4 victory over the Red Sox, but he was not pitching in a save situation and allowed an earned run.
EDGE Analysis
Feliz has not been particularly sharp of late, giving up eight earned runs over his last 10 outings while throwing just two clean frames over that span. However, he is 8-for-9 in save situations and owns a 1.15 WHIP this season, so he is not seemingly in any danger of losing the closer's job at the moment. If Feliz is forced to give up the ninth-inning duties for any reason, Corey Knebel would be the favorite to replace him.

Feliz allowed a solo home run while striking out one in the 10th inning for his seventh save of the year in Monday's 7-5 win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Feliz allowed Jed Gyorko's second home run of the night but was able to lock down the save ultimately. The hard-throwing right-hander's seven saves are nice, but he's now allowed four home runs and a blown save in 11.2 innings for an ugly 6.17 ERA. His job isn't in jeopardy for the time being, but he remains one of the more volatile ninth-inning stoppers.
