Feliz signed a one-year, $3.9 million deal with the Pirates on Wednesday, Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan reports.
EDGE Analysis
If anyone can salvage Feliz's career as a useful bullpen arm, it might be the Pirates and pitching coach Ray Searage. His K-rate has been below 20 percent in each of the past three seasons, and he has an ERA over 4.00 in each of the past two campaigns. The Tigers recently opted not to tender him a contract, which speaks to his lack of believers within the industry. While this is a nice landing spot for the 27-year-old righty, he will likely find himself pitching in middle relief in a loaded Pirates bullpen.

Feliz will not be tendered a contract by the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
With the Tigers opting against tendering Feliz a contract heading into his third winter of arb eligibility, the former Rangers closer is now a free agent. It's hardly a surprise Detroit went this route, as Feliz would have been due upwards of $5 million for 2016 and is coming off what was by far the worst season of his career.

Feliz (3-4) endured a blown save and loss Saturday night, giving up two earned runs on two hits and two walks in a 4-3 defeat to the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Feliz had converted each of his last three save opportunities entering Saturday, occupying the ninth inning role amid Bruce Rondon's dismissal from the team. The 27-year-old's dreadful peripherals caught up with him, however, resulting in a disastrous walk-off loss against the White Sox. Feliz's closing days should be in the rear-view mirror after the season.

Feliz logged his ninth save with a clean inning of work against the Twins on Friday night. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
With Bruce Rondon in the Tigers' doghouse, Feliz has been given a chance to pitch in the ninth inning as the season winds down. He posted six saves for Texas before losing the job, and now has three saves for Detroit. He appears to be the interim closer, but his 6.17 ERA should raise plenty of warning flags.

Feliz recorded his eighth save of the season Wednesday, posting a 1-2-3 inning in a 7-4 win over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The save was Feliz's first since Aug. 15, and second as a member of the Tigers. Detroit's primary closer, Bruce Rondon, was sent home Tuesday due to "lack of effort," opening a spot for Feliz to get some ninth inning looks as the season winds down.

Feliz was on the mound when the White Sox snapped the Tigers' combined no-hit bid in the ninth inning of Tuesday's game. He retired the first batter, but allowed a triple to the No. 9 hitter. He finished with two hits, one earned run and one strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
He has been able to whittle his ERA down to 6.45 from a high of 8.28 on July 28, just seven games after his arrival in Detroit. He got a bit unlucky Tuesday, but he's still prone to occasional blow-ups. And that means his elite closer days of 2010 and 2011 aren't likely to return soon.

Feliz made his Tigers' debut Saturday against the Twins. He pitched a scoreless eighth inning with one hit and one strikeout. The former top closer with the Rangers was designated for assignment July 3 and became a free agent after going unclaimed on waivers. Prior to Saturday, he had a 4.58 ERA and 1.67 WHIP in 18 appearances. But he has three solid pitches, including a mid-90s heater, a biting slider and a decent changeup. And he could provide some interesting fantasy value if he gets to pitch in high-leverage situations with the Tigers.

Feliz was signed to a big league deal by the Tigers on Saturday. He will join the team Saturday in Minnesota and should be available to pitch in the final two games before the All-Star break. Once a top-10 prospect in baseball, Feliz's stock has slipped to the point that the Rangers designated him for assignment last wee and he subsequently elected to become a free agent. The Tigers now employ three former Rangers closers in Joakim Soria, Joe Nathan and now Feliz. Look for Feliz to see work in the middle innings initially before possibly working his way into the eighth inning role.

Feliz, who was designated for assignment July 3, has elected free agency, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports. Feliz logged a 4.58 ERA with 24 hits, nine walks, and 16 strikeouts over 19.2 innings with the Rangers this season. At just 27 years of age, Feliz will likely draw interest from several teams looking to add depth to the bullpen. Cotillo reports that Feliz forfeited the remainder of his salary this year to explore the open market.

Feliz was designated for assignment by the Rangers on Friday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Feliz was activated from the disabled list Thursday after more than than a month due to an abscess under his right arm, but a roster move needed to be made for the upcoming activation of Matt Harrison (back) from the 60-day DL. In 17.2 innings this season, Feliz's six saves were accompanied by a lacking 5.09 ERA, 1.755 WHIP, and 15:9 K:BB
