The Yankees have placed Eovaldi (elbow) on the 15-day DL on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi underwent an MRI on Thursday and was diagnosed with a right elbow tendon injury. The Yankees will be very cautious with Eovaldi the rest of the season as they are well out of the playoff race in the American League. A timetable of the injury is unclear at this time, but expect Eovaldi to miss more than the 15-day designation.

Eovaldi (elbow) underwent a dye contrast MRI on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees will await the results of the MRI and have Eovaldi under further evaluation and consultation in the coming days before updating his status any further. At this point, it seems safe to assume Eovaldi will miss at least one start after making it just 12 pitches into Wednesday's outing. The team may not have much of a choice but to bring Luis Severino back from Triple-A for a start early next week.

Eovaldi (elbow) was removed from Wednesday's game after one inning of work with right elbow discomfort, Jared Diamond of the Wall Street Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi will immediately fly back to New York for further evaluation after throwing just 12 pitches during his start in Boston. The 26-year-old hasn't missed any time due to an injury this season, but was shut down with inflammation in his right elbow during early September in 2015. In the case that this is more than just a minor setback, Eovaldi could be out for an extended period of time with the Yankees looking ahead to the future.

Eovaldi (undisclosed) left Wednesday's contest against Boston after the first inning, Jared Diamond of the Wall Street Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi threw just 12 pitches before getting replaced by Chasen Shreve after the end of the first. Shreve was up in the bullpen during the inning, so something was clearly wrong with Eovaldi right away Wednesday night. The team hasn't released any information on the expected injury as of yet, but news on his departure will likely come out before the game is over.

Eovaldi (9-8) gave up four runs on five hits and two walks over seven innings in Thursday's loss to the Mets. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Two big swings in the fifth inning were the difference for Eovaldi in this one -- Kelly Johnson's solo homer and Jay Bruce's three-run shot. Never very homer-prone, Eovaldi's seen a profusion of long balls added to his line this year, as he's now allowed 23 -- just one less than in his last two seasons (spanning some 354 innings) combined. Year after year, fantasy owners draft Eovaldi hoping that his big fastball will translate to quality results, and year after year, they're disappointed.

Eovaldi (9-7) gave up three earned runs on three hits and two walks over six innings in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Rays. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
He was touched up for a long ball for the first time in six appearances, giving up a solo homer to Brad Miller in the first and a two-run blast to Curt Casali in the third. Eovalidi also turned in his second straight quality start, and despite the loss Saturday, enjoyed a solid July. It was a strong bounce-back month for the 26-year-old right-hander, after a June in which he generated an 0-3 record and 8.65 ERA. He'll look to extend his recent success into August when he takes on the Mets next Thursday.

Eovaldi (9-6) allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks over 6.2 innings Sunday while striking out six in a win over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
He's now put together two consecutive solid starts since returning to the Yankees' rotation, giving up just three runs in 12 innings with a 7:4 K:BB. Eovaldi's also kept the ball in the park during those two starts and hasn't allowed a long ball in five straight appearances, a massive improvement on the 1.9 HR/9 rate he held prior to that stretch. If he can continue to avoid serving up homers, he could be in line for a strong finish to the season.

Eovaldi (8-6) pitched 5.1 innings Tuesday, allowing one earned run on four hits and two walks while striking out just one en route to a win.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi will gladly take the good but not great start against a powerful Orioles offense in his first start rejoining the Yankees rotation after being demoted to the bullpen briefly before the all-star break. While the lack of strikeouts is frustrating for fantasy owners, Eovaldi did lower his ERA to 4.93 and should keep hold of his rotation spot for the time being following the win Tuesday.

Eovaldi will start Tuesday against Baltimore, the Journal News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi is set to make first start of the second half of the season against Ubaldo Jimenez and the Orioles next week. Eovaldi has a rough month of June, allowing four or more earned runs in each of his five starts resulting in a 8.65 ERA for the month. He's bounced back over his last two outings however, allowing only one hit and no earned runs over his last 6.1 innings.

Eovaldi (7-6) threw 4.1 scoreless innings Sunday, allowing just one hit and three walks while striking out three, to pick up his first career relief win in an 11-7 victory over the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
It's a nice bonus for anyone with Eovaldi shares after they got the bad news he'd been dropped from the rotation heading into the All-Star break. The outing might be enough to allow him to regain his starting role in the second half, but Luis Severino also seems to have turned things around at Triple-A so there's no guarantee Eovaldi will be the Yankees' first choice when they need a fifth starter again.
