Eovaldi (9-6) took the loss Saturday, coughing up six runs (five earned) on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings as the Red Sox fell 9-5 to the Rays. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Four of the six hits off Eovaldi went for extra bases, including two-run homers by Ji-Man Choi and Francisco Mejia -- the first time all season he's served up multiple home runs in a game. The right-hander tossed 105 pitches (69 strikes) before exiting, and he'll take a 3.71 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 120:22 K:BB through 121.1 innings into his next outing.

Eovaldi allowed two earned runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out eight across 7.2 innings Saturday against the Yankees. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi held the Yankees scoreless through seven innings. He ran into trouble in the eighth, allowing a leadoff double prior to a run-scoring single. When he exited the contest, he had 3-1 lead, though the bullpen blew his lead and the game by allowing three additional runs to cross the plate in the frame. Despite losing the opportunity for a win, Eovaldi was excellent and racked up 22 called strikes and 14 swinging strikes on 100 total pitches. In his last 10 starts, Eovaldi has allowed two earned runs or fewer on seven occasions -- six of which he allowed one or no earned runs. For the season, he's maintained a 3.49 ERA with 114 strikeouts across 116 innings.

Eovaldi allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out seven over five innings in a no-decision against the Yankees on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi had thrown 94 pitches and was removed with the score tied 1-1 to start the sixth. The Yankees then hit back-to-back home runs off reliever Hirokazu Sawamura. A significant rain that started in the fifth inning continued to fall hard, and the game was called after six. The Red Sox are expected to introduce a sixth starter Wednesday -- the recently called up Tanner Houck -- which should push Eovaldi's next start to Friday at home against the Yankees.

Eovaldi (9-5) took the loss Tuesday as the Red Sox fell 5-3 to the Angels, giving up five runs on nine hits and a walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out nine.
EDGE Analysis
The nine whiffs were his highest total since April 19, but Eovaldi was getting too much of the plate all night as six of the Angels' nine hits went for extra bases. Unless the Red Sox shuffle around their rotation, the right-hander will take a 3.66 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 99:20 K:BB through 103.1 innings into the All-Star break.

Eovaldi (9-4) allowed five hits and no walks while striking out six across seven scoreless innings to earn the win Thursday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi rolled through the Royals and allowed only one hit to the last 14 batters he faced. Though he didn't rack up strikeouts, he worked efficiently and has now thrown seven or more innings in each of his last two starts. While he has allowed four or more earned runs in five of his 17 outings this season, Eovaldi still maintains a 3.41 ERA while striking out 90 batters across 97.2 frames on the campaign.

Eovaldi (8-4) allowed one earned run on seven hits while striking out six across 7.2 innings, earning the win over the Yankees on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi shut out the Yankees through 7.2 innings before surrendering a solo home run to DJ LeMahieu. He earned the victory in what ended up being his longest start of the season. It was a nice comeback after being pulled in his last outing against the Royals with just four innings pitched. The 31-year-old has a 3.67 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and a 8.3 K/9 in 90.2 innings. Although he isn't a high-strikeout pitcher, Eovaldi is tied for seventh in the American league in total innings pitched, proving to be reliable and consistent throughout the season.

Eovaldi (7-4) was tagged with the loss Sunday against the Royals after allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk while fanning four across four innings.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi has been up and down of late and while he's allowed four or more runs in two of his last three starts, those are the only two times he's given up more than two runs across his last six showings. Regardless of a few inconsistent outings, the right-hander owns a 3.90 ERA across 15 starts this season and should make his next appearance against the Yankees at home next week.

Eovaldi allowed three hits and one walk while striking out four across 6.2 innings Monday against the Blue Jays. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi was dominant in this one and would have come away with the victory had the Red Sox not surrendered a 1-0 lead in the top of the ninth. Boston was ultimately able to win the contest in the bottom half of the frame, however. Eovaldi was coming off a tough showing his last time out, as he was tagged for five runs on 11 hits and three walks against Houston, but he's been rock solid of late despite this outlier, giving up two runs or fewer in four of his last five starts.

Eovaldi (7-3) took the loss Wednesday. He allowed five runs on 11 hits and three walks while striking out five in 5.2 innings versus Houston.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi struggled in a four-run third inning, and that was enough to give him his first loss since April 24. The 31-year-old gave up a solo home run to Jose Altuve -- it was just the third long ball he's allowed all year, but all of those have come in his last four starts. The poor outing inflated Eovaldi's ERA to 4.11 with a 1.29 WHIP and 70:17 K:BB across 72.1 innings this season. The right-hander projects to make his next start versus Toronto.

Eovaldi (7-2) allowed two runs (one earned) on eight hits and no walks while striking out seven in six innings to earn the win against the Yankees on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Eovaldi has now picked up wins in each of his last three outings, and he helped lead the Red Sox to an elusive win at Yankee Stadium on Friday. He allowed plenty of baserunners in Friday's matchup, but he was able to hold the Yankees in check on the scoreboard. Across his last three starts, the right-hander has allowed four runs (three earned) on 17 hits and three walks while striking out 18 in 16.2 innings. He tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Astros on Wednesday.
