Pearson received an invitation to big-league camp Friday.
EDGE Analysis
In a season in which their chances of competing for a playoff spot appear to be fairly slim, the Blue Jays may not seriously consider Pearson for an Opening Day roster spot, but the highly-rated righty likely won't have to wait too long to make his debut. In 25 starts across the three highest levels of the minors last season (just three of which came at the Triple-A level), Pearson struck out 30.7 percent of opposing batters and walked 7.0 percent en route to a 2.30 ERA.

The Blue Jays promoted Pearson from Double-A New Hampshire to Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday, Carlos Collazo of Baseball America reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 22-year-old flamethrower will make the move to the International League after posting a 2.59 ERA and 69:21 K:BB across 62.2 innings with New Hampshire following his promotion from High-A Dunedin in May. If he impresses in his initial late-season action at Triple-A, Pearson could get a token chance to compete for a rotation spot with the big club next spring, though it's more likely than not that he'll be headed back to Buffalo to begin the 2020 campaign.

Pearson allowed two hits and three walks over six scoreless innings for Double-A New Hampshire on Tuesday. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
The outing marked a milestone for Pearson, as it was the first time in his pro career he'd completed six full innings. The right-hander now boasts a 2.54 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 50:14 K:BB through 46 innings in the Eastern League, and while the Jays have treated the 22-year-old with kid gloves this season, he seems headed for a big-league debut in 2020 if he continues to blow away hitters in the high minors.

Pearson walked one and struck out eight over 5.2 no-hit, scoreless innings for Double-A New Hampshire on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Since the beginning of June, Pearson has a 2.01 ERA, 0.58 WHIP and 23:6 K:BB through 22.1 innings for the Fisher Cats, while Wednesday's outing was his longest so far at the level and tied his high for strikeouts since his promotion to Double-A. The Jays' No. 4 fantasy prospect, per our rankings, still has to prove he can hold up as a starter over a full season, but Pearson has demonstrated his upside as a potential major-league ace more than once in 2019.

Pearson (groin) was activated off the 7-day injured list Wednesday and allowed three runs on three hits over 1.1 innings for Double-A New Hampshire, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pearson landed on the injured list June 20 with the groin issue but was able to return to the mound after only a brief absence. The 22-year-old had a 2.70 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 31:5 K:BB over 26.2 innings prior to the injury for the Fisher Cats, and he's expected to pitch Sunday in the All-Star Futures Game.

Pearson (groin) has been throwing off flat ground, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is a step in the right direction for Pearson, who landed on the injured list over the weekend due to a groin injury. He still has to pass a few tests before being cleared for mound work, but the Blue Jays are hoping that could happen by the end of next week.

Pearson was placed on the minor-league injured list with an undisclosed injury Saturday, retroactive to June 20.
EDGE Analysis
Pearson has pitched well since earning the promotion to Double-A New Hampshire in early May with a 2.70 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 31:5 K:BB, but he's now sidelined with the undisclosed issue. The 22-year-old will be eligible to be activated June 27, but it's unclear if he'll require a longer absence.

Pearson gave up only one hit through five scoreless innings for Double-A New Hampshire on Sunday, striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
The only thing that's held the right-hander back this season is the Jays' concern about his workload. Pearson's still being limited to two innings in every other start, but the results of that babying have been spectacular -- he's held the opposition off the board entirely in nine of his 13 outings, posting a 1.97 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 63:8 K:BB through 45.2 innings. The 22-year-old won't be rushed up the ladder, but Pearson should be knocking on the door of a big-league rotation spot by next season.

Pearson allowed only two hits over five scoreless innings while striking out eight for Double-A New Hampshire on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Jays' top pitching prospect got promoted to the Eastern League after six dominant starts at High-A and didn't miss a beat in his first outing for New Hampshire. Pearson's lack of innings since being drafted in 2017 probably means the organization will keep a tight leash on his workload, but the 22-year-old could very well finish his campaign at Triple-A if he keeps this up.

Pearson allowed one hit and one walk over five scoreless innings while striking out 10 for High-A Dunedin on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The 10 whiffs were a career high for the right-hander, pushing his K:BB so far to a stunning 30:2 through 19 innings. Pearson's lack of pro experience -- the 2017 first-round pick only threw 1.2 frames last year due to an oblique strain and a broken forearm -- could keep him at High-A for a little while longer, but performance-wise, he's clearly ready for the next challenge.
