Wright (shoulder) is expected to be placed on the 10-day disabled list, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although the team is still looking over the results of Wright's MRI, all indications are that the right-hander will be shelved due to shoulder discomfort. The roster move hasn't been made official, but the Orioles will likely be looking to bring up a fresh bullpen arm to eat up innings in place of Wright.

Wright will have his shoulder soreness examined by team doctors Thursday after feeling pain while pitching in Wednesday's game, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
The reliever, who's unavailable Thursday, threw two innings but had three days off before that, so manager Buck Showalter was a bit concerned with that development. Wright's availability as a middle reliever for the near future will be determined sometime in the next few days.

Wright was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright was previously under consideration to replace Ubaldo Jimenez in the rotation last Sunday against the Astros, but the Orioles ultimately turned to long reliever Alec Asher for those duties. Though Asher was blasted for six runs in two innings in that outing, he's still on track to start Friday against the Red Sox, so it appears Wright will serve as bullpen depth during his stint with the big club, at least initially.

Wright is an option to make a spot start for the Orioles on Sunday in Houston, Rich Dubroff of PressBoxOnline.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
For now, manager Buck Showalter plans on sticking with Ubaldo Jimenez (7.17 ERA and 1.71 WHIP) for Sunday's tilt, but the skipper fell noticeably short of committing to that blueprint. "We take each day as it comes, and see where we are as a pitching staff after each outing," Showalter said. Wright, who's scheduled to toe the rubber for Triple-A Norfolk that same day, owns a 4.13 ERA and 1.40 WHIP through nine starts for the Tides this year.

Wright was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
With Zach Britton (forearm) coming off the DL, Wright was sent back to Norfolk just one day after being recalled. Wright wasn't used during his one-day stint in the majors. Wright currently owns a 5.79 ERA and 1.69 WHIP at the Triple-A level this season.

Wright was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Orioles will bring Wright aboard to provide a fresh arm in the bullpen after Logan Verrett, who was demoted to Norfolk in a corresponding move, was asked to cover two innings Sunday against the Yankees. Wright has made five starts with Norfolk this season, submitting a 5.79 ERA and 1.69 WHIP over 23.1 innings.

Wright has struggled through his first three starts at Triple-A Norfolk, allowing 10 earned runs on 17 hits and six walks over 11.2 innings (7.71 ERA and 1.97 WHIP).
EDGE Analysis
Once an option to temporarily fill a void in the Orioles' starting rotation, Wright has fallen a long way in a short time. He's failed to make it out of the fifth frame in any of his three outings so far, while opposing hitters have racked up a .327 batting average against the right-hander. The O's third-round pick in 2011, Wright has failed to foot the bill over six professional seasons. At 27 years old, he'll need to figure it out fast, because his window of opportunity won't be open for much longer without a vast improvement.

Wright was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday, the Baltimore Sun's Jon Meoli reports.
EDGE Analysis
This was the most likely scenario, as the Orioles don't necessarily need to break camp with a fifth stater in place of the injured Chris Tillman, given the way the schedule shakes out, and Wright wasn't even necessarily in the lead for that role. He will continue to work on a more over-the-top delivery at Triple-A, and could get a call as a spot starter later this season.

Wright has been working to adjust his arm slot to throw more over the top and create more break on his pitches, Rich Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright's current arm slot is lower three-quarters which can sometimes lead to spinning the ball rather than getting the desired break on pitches. He is one of the remaining options to fill the shoes of starter Chris Tillman (shoulder) in the Opening Day rotation. The team prefers not to bounce the right-hander between the bullpen and the rotation like it has over the past two seasons. However, with major adjustments in the works, Wright's likely to beginning the year honing his adjustments at Triple-A Norfolk.

Wright pitched two innings, allowing two runs on two hits and struck out one in Tuesday's game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Wright's manager, Buck Showalter, said prior to the game that he was excited to evaluate the 27-year-old get on the bump. "I'm looking forward to seeing Mike today," Showalter said. "Mike's in a really good place." Hours later, the skipper watched Wright give up a two-run blast to Phillies' Tommy Joseph in the second inning, but Wright said he was satisfied with how he threw. "You know, I gave up those two runs, but I threw a lot of good pitches, and I'm really happy with some of the pitches I threw," Wright said. "That pitch, I wish I could have back, but I'm really happy with the progression I've made as far as mindset and going out there and executing pitches." Wright is competing with fellow righties Logan Verrett and Tyler Wilson, as well as left-hander Vidal Nuno for one of the final spots in the Orioles' bullpen. Each of the three can start and relieve and has minor league options remaining.
