The 28-year-old is a power source for owners all of a sudden. He has three homers in the last two games and has posted nine RBI since Aug. 3. In six of his past 11 games, Tauchman has also recorded multiple hits. He is batting .299 with 10 home runs, 36 RBI, 36 runs and four steals in 174 at-bats this season.

Tauchman clubbed a solo homer to left in the sixth inning and gave his club a three-run cushion with a two-run blast in the eighth. The 28-year-old has come through for a battered Yankees squad of late, registering three home runs and nine RBI over his team's last five matchups.

Cameron Maybin recently appeared to have won out over Tauchman for an everyday spot in the New York outfield, but there should be opportunities for both to see regular action after center fielder Aaron Hicks (elbow) was moved to the 10-day injured list Sunday. Brett Gardner will act as the main replacement for Hicks in center, while Tauchman, Maybin and Aaron Judge are expected to fill the two corner-outfield and DH spots in some combination in most games. Despite his playing time being somewhat sporadic, Tauchman has been a well-above-average hitter this season, putting together a .284/.363/.506 slash line (128 wRC+) across 182 plate appearances.

EDGE Analysis
Tauchman provided the Yankees their lone runs off starter Zack Greinke, but the rain delay ended his outing after five frames and the offense came alive against the bullpen. The 28-year-old had an impressive July with a .423/.474/.750 slash line, six doubles and three home runs in 16 games.

Tauchman continues fighting for playing time in a crowded Yankees lineup but collected a pair of three-hit games over the last four days is a good way to earn it. He's gone 12-for-23 (.522) with nine runs scored in July.

With the Yankees kicking off a series against his former team, Tauchman was awarded a rare start and made the most of it. On the strength of his three-hit performance, Tauchman now maintains a respectable .781 OPS for the season, but the 28-year-old nonetheless looks bound to stick in a fourth-outfielder role while all of Brett Gardner, Aaron Hicks and Aaron Judge are healthy. Tauchman will be out of the lineup for Saturday's contest, per Erik Boland of Newsday.

EDGE Analysis
Tauchman started each of the last three games, but he still looks like the Yankees' clear fourth outfielder behind Aaron Judge, Aaron Hicks and Brett Gardner. Expect Tauchman's at-bats to remain fairly limited heading into the second half of the season.

EDGE Analysis
Giancarlo Stanton is once again on the injured list, this time with a right knee sprain, and Tauchman will be up to take Stanton's place on the active roster. Tauchman has homered four times at the highest level this year but his overall .212/.305/.394 line leaves much to be desired. As a lefty batter, Tauchman does not make for a natural platoon partner with Brett Gardner. Chances are, his starting opportunities will be sporadic.

Tauchman was called up to the big club Thursday, and he went 1-for-9 with a walk in three games during his latest major-league stint. Giancarlo Stanton (shoulder) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday to take Tauchman's spot on the 25-man roster.

The 28-year-old has appeared in 34 games for the big club this season, slashing .211/.306/.411 with four homers, a stolen base and a 30.6 percent strikeout rate in those contests. Tauchman could see some opportunities against righties until the Yankees get healthier.
