Mike Moustakas will sit out for the next two days as he works on adjusting his swing.
Moustakas is not in danger of being demoted, but he's batted just .194/.253/.252 through his first 172 major league plate appearances and the Royals want change. The 22-year-old will look to finish out his rookie campaign on a high note courtesy of a new plate approach.

The Royals are not considering a demotion for the struggling Mike Moustakas.
"Nooooo," manager Ned Yost said. "No. No thought whatsoever. Moustakas is fine. He's going to work his way through this." Moose has just two hits in his last 37 at-bats to drop his average all the way down to .212 and he has just four extra-base hits in 104 at-bats since being called up in mid-June. Though the future is bright for him, it's clear he has some growing up to do.

Mike Moustakas went 1-for-4 with a run in Thursday's loss to the Twins
The rookie is 2-for-27 (.074) in his last seven games. He is taking some lumps in his first major league season, but he certainly possesses the talent to rebound during the second half.

Mike Moustakas went hitless on Wednesday to finish the series against the White Sox 0-for-11.
Moustakas's average is down to .250, and after homering in his second game as a big leaguer, he's now gone 20 straight without going deep. No one is giving up on him, but it looks like the Royals likely would have been better off with Wilson Betemit playing third these last three weeks.
