Mike Moustakas went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts from the cleanup spot Monday against the White Sox.
It's one thing for the Royals to bat Moustakas cleanup against a right-hander. It's another to do it versus a top-notch left-hander like Chris Sale. We're about as anti-Jeff Francoeur as it gets, but it would have made a lot more sense to have him and Moustakas switch spots today, with Moustakas hitting eighth. The Royals might have even gotten a run that way.

Mike Moustakas singled and belted a solo homer Tuesday against the Rockies.
Moose took Juan Nicasio deep in the second inning for his third longball of the spring. The third baseman has been mashing during Cactus League play, sporting a .426 average to go along with his three homers and nine RBI. He's a potential breakout candidate if he can improve his plate discipline and ability to hit lefties.

Mike Moustakas was scratched from Tuesday's Cactus League lineup against the Athletics after he fouled a ball off his foot.
The severity of the injury isn't yet known. However, there's no reason to take any chances at this point in the spring schedule.

Mike Moustakas went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored in a win over the Diamondbacks on Monday.
Moustakas delivered a pair of RBI singles. We're still waiting on the 24-year-old to put it all together, as he faded badly after the All-Star break last year. He'll likely go undrafted in most standard mixed leagues.

Mike Moustakas (groin) has been shut down for the season.
Moustakas aggravated his left groin injury Monday. "I tweaked it coming in on a play and didn't think too much of it," he said, "and then [Monday] on the slide I kind of tweaked it up again, so the skip says no reason to get out there again." The third baseman's season ends with a .242 average, 20 home runs and 73 RBI.

Mike Moustakas is likely to be shut down after aggravating a groin injury Monday.
Moustakas injured his groin Sunday, but tried to return to the lineup Monday. And now his offseason will start a little earlier than originally anticipated. The 24-year-old third baseman wraps up the season with a disappointing .242/.296/.412 batting line to go along with 20 home runs, 73 RBI and a .708 OPS in 149 games played. His performance really dropped off during the second half and his strikeouts went up dramatically from last year. He shouldn't be anything more than a late-round flier in mixed leagues next year.

Moustakas left Sunday's game with a groin injury, but it was never a major concern. He'll bat sixth Monday against right-hander Rick Porcello.

Mike Moustakas is not expected to miss any time after leaving Sunday's game with a groin injury.
Manager Ned Yost said he could have stayed in game, so this isn't a season-ending injury. Moustakas will be in the lineup for the Royals' final three-game series Monday against the Tigers.

Mike Moustakas left Sunday's game with tightness in his left groin.
He status for the final three games of the season isn't know at this point, but it would be a surprise if he plays. If Moustakas' season is indeed over, it will conclude with a disappointing .242/.295/.414 batting line to go along with 20 homers and 73 RI.
