Minor (3-2) gave up one run on three hits and one walk while striking out 13 over seven innings in a win over the Mariners on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty gave up a homer to the second batter he faced (Domingo Santana), but was close to unhittable from there on. Minor ended his night with back-to-back swinging strikeouts, bringing his total to 13 and tying the club record for most strikeouts in a game by a left-handed pitcher. Since giving up six runs Opening Day, Minor has pitched to a 1.75 ERA over 36 innings, with a 36:10 K:BB over that span. He will look to keep it going next week in a home start against the Blue Jays.

Minor (2-2) took the loss against the Athletics on Monday, giving up four earned runs on four hits over six innings, striking out four and walking three as the Rangers eventually fell 6-1.
EDGE Analysis
Coming off a dominant complete-game shutout in his last start against the Angels, Minor only missed a quality start by one earned run in this one, but he was ultimately saddled with his second loss of the season. The 31-year-old is still off to a good start, holding opponents to a .190 average and posting a 3.21 ERA, a 0.98 ERA and 26 strikeouts through 33.2 innings so far in 2019.

Minor isn't expected to make his next start until Monday against the Angels with the Rangers listing Shelby Miller as their probable starter for Sunday's series finale with the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Due to open dates in the schedule Monday and Thursday of this week, the Rangers had the option of temporarily getting by with a four-man rotation. Unless manager Chris Woodward has a late change of heart, the Rangers look set to give each of their rotation members one start apiece during the five-game week, denying Minor of a two step. Thus far in the young season, Minor has been the top starter in an underwhelming Rangers rotation, posting a 3.86 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB over three outings.

The veteran southpaw was in line for his second win until Jose Leclerc blew the save in the ninth inning. Minor threw 62 of 99 pitches for strikes while generating 16 swinging strikes en route to his second straight quality start, and the only blemishes on his performance were solo shots by Nick Ahmed and John Ryan Murphy. Minor (0-1) allowed six runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three over 4.2 innings in Thursday's loss to the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Minor pitched three scoreless innings to start the game, but he wasn't exactly sharp in throwing just 44 strikes among his 76 pitches. "I wasn't locating anything," Minor told T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com. "I was kind of grinding all day, even though I was getting out of the innings. My changeup got me back in some counts and got me some ground balls." The Cubs got to him in the fourth when Javier Baez hit solo home run, and they put up a six-spot in the fifth inning. The left-hander is next schedule to pitch Tuesday against Houston.

Minor will start on Opening Day, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Minor will take the ball as the Rangers square off against the Cubs on March 28. While it's a tough starting assignment, Minor proved capable at times last season, throwing 157 innings with a 4.18 ERA and 1.12 WHIP. He's thrown only 11.1 official innings this spring, but has racked up 10 strikeouts and is entering the season healthy.

Minor allowed three hits and three walks while striking out three over 3.1 scoreless innings Monday against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Minor labored through his fourth spring start and was able to work himself out of jams in the first and third innings via the strikeout. From that standpoint, the outing was a successful one. The left-hander lowered his spring ERA to 3.97 and gets one more start before the regular season.

Minor threw 80 pitches in a simulated game Tuesday, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Minor had been scheduled to throw in a minor-league game, but rain washed out the game. However, the storms eventually passed and the fields dried enough for the left-hander to pitch a simulated game. Statistics didn't matter much as the Rangers didn't have outfielders risk playing on wet ground. The main thing was Minor getting his pitch count up and getting up and down five times. He's on schedule for Opening Day, March 28, against the Cubs.
