Conforto went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer against the Phillies on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The long ball went to the opposite field, providing yet another example of Conforto's excellent hitting ability. All of a sudden, the rookie's sitting on a .311 batting average, and with five homers in 90 at-bats, he's flashed a little more power than we expected to go with his fabulous plate discipline. For a note of caution, the Mets have limited Conforto's exposure to lefties -- only five at-bats -- and it'd be nice to see him get some shots against southpaws down the stretch to help evaluate his capability to be an everyday starter next year.
