Conforto (shoulder) is scheduled to start in the outfield for Saturday's Grapefruit League contest, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Mickey Callaway went on to state that there's a good chance Conforto will be back in action before May 1. The outfielder was able to DH for the Mets on Friday after competing in a minor-league contest Thursday as he continues to ramp up activity after undergoing shoulder surgery last fall. Expect a more concise target date for his return in the near future.

Conforto (shoulder) will serve as the Mets' designated hitter in Friday's Grapefruit League game,Matt Ehalt of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is a significant turnaround after reports Wednesday said that Conforto would be held out of Grapefruit League action for the rest of spring training. While he won't be tasked with any fielding duty, Conforto will get some at-bats as the DH to test his shoulder. It's still likely that Conforto misses the start of the season, but his continued progress could change things if they continue on this path.

Conforto (shoulder) won't appear in any Grapefruit League games this spring, Matt Ehalt of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
This isn't much of a surprise, as Conforto is still expected to miss the start of the regular season. He has played in a handful of minor-league games in the past week and appears to be doing well in his recovery from shoulder surgery, but not well enough that he's ready for a major-league game just yet. Conforto is reportedly optimistic that he can beat his May 1 target return date, but this news makes it clear that he's still at least a few weeks away from being fully ready to go.

Conforto (shoulder) played four innings of center field in a minor-league game Tuesday, Matt Ehalt of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Conforto also was able to add six plate appearances in the contest, one of which was an RBI double. It seems like the increased activity is going fine for the young outfielder, though it's unclear when he'll be able to play a full game in the field. Once he's healthy, Conforto will be the Mets' primary center fielder and likely leadoff hitter.

Conforto (shoulder) was scheduled to appear in another minor-league game Sunday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's expected that Conforto will see run in the outfield for the first time this spring after being limited to DH duty in his previous minor-league and simulated-game action. While the Mets have already indicated that Conforto won't be available for Opening Day, the 25-year-old has made substantial progress in his rehab from September surgery for his left shoulder and could beat the May 1 date the Mets had been projecting for his season debut. Once he's ready to go, Conforto will slide in as the Mets' leadoff hitter and everyday center fielder.

Conforto (shoulder) hopes to return before his expected return date of May 1, Matt Ehalt of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Conforto is recovering from September surgery on his left shoulder. He played in a minor-league game Friday, his first game of any kind since the surgery. He's feeling good and hopes to return early, though the team is remaining cautious and not counting on him being back before the start of May.

Conforto (shoulder) will play in a minor-league game Friday and is scheduled for four at-bats, James Wagner of The New York Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
This will be his first game action since he underwent shoulder surgery last fall, so it's a pretty major development. It was originally expected that Conforto would get in an exhibition game next week, so it sounds like he continues to be ahead of schedule. He will need at least several weeks worth of action to get his timing back and to be able to trust his shoulder on throws from the outfield, so it's still quite possible that he opens the year on the disabled list. That said, his owners won't be without him for as long as originally anticipated.

Conforto said Tuesday that he has progressed from September surgery on his left shoulder about as quickly as the Mets could have hoped and plans to make his Grapefruit League debut next week, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
At the time of Conforto's surgery, general manager Sandy Alderson said that the outfielder would require about six months to recover, with the Mets later pushing back his estimated return date to May 1. Conforto was able to resume playing catch in mid-February before gradually adding batting practice and outfield drills to his ledger in recent weeks, providing renewed hope that he'll be back in action for the Mets at some point during the season's first month. If Conforto does in fact return to the Grapefruit League lineup next week, he would likely be limited to DH duties initially. Since he won't be able to get in enough at-bats over the rest of the spring to be an Opening Day option, Conforto is still expected to begin the season the 10-day disabled list and continue his rehab at extended spring training or a minor-league affiliate. Once activated from the DL following what will likely be a multi-game rehab assignment, Conforto could immediately settle back into the role he filled last season as the Mets' leadoff man.

Conforto (shoulder) will increase his level of activity over the coming week, Matt Ehalt of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Conforto's rehab is progressing as planned, as he's regularly taking batting practice and recently began doing drills in the outfield. If his recovery continues without any setbacks, the team's goal of having him back at the beginning of May should be obtainable.

Conforto (shoulder) was a full participant in batting practice and was able to spend time chasing down fly balls in the outfield Thursday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Conforto has made solid strides over the past week, starting with soft toss and swinging off a tee to hitting live batting practice twice in the last three days. The outfielder is continuing to ramp up activity following a surgical procedure to repair a torn posterior capsule in left left shoulder back in early September, and he remains on target for a return to the field at the beginning of May.
