Indians placed OF Michael Bourn on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 21, with a strained left hamstring. Bourn tweaked his hamstring two weeks ago, and the Indians don't want to take any chances with their leadoff man. It's possible he'll be ready to go early on in the season, though it's not a given. Nyjer Morgan has made the Opening Day roster with Bourn out and will see plenty of playing time in center field.

Michael Bourn (hamstring) will open the 2014 regular season on the 15-day disabled list. Bourn needed surgery on his left hamstring in mid-October and then began experiencing tightness in that same area last week. The Indians want to make sure he's 100 percent before putting him into their everyday lineup. Bourn's value relies heavily on speed, so this is all very concerning for both fantasy owners and the Cleveland front office.

Michael Bourn (hamstring) is scheduled to run the bases on Sunday and Monday. The team should have a better grasp on his readiness for Opening Day at that point. Bourn has been out of games for a week after feeling some tightness in his left hamstring during a game on March 16. Even if he's not ready to go on Opening Day, he should be back with the Tribe sooner than later.

Michael Bourn (hamstring) took part in some hitting drills on Saturday. The outfielder continues to work his way back from a strained left hamstring. He's been playing catch in recent days, and on Friday he did some running as well. Indians manager Terry Francona said Bourn is "progressively getting stronger and more aggressive," and it appears he'll make it back just in time for Opening Day.

Michael Bourn (hamstring) ran on an anti-gravity treadmill Thursday and is slated to do some "land-based" drills on Friday. Bourn will be held out of game action until at least the middle of next week due to a strained left hamstring. The outfielder has expressed optimism that he'll be ready to roll once Opening Day arrives, but the clock is ticking.

Michael Bourn (hamstring) will miss at least the next week and is questionable for Opening Day. Bourn was removed from Sunday's game with tightness in his left hamstring. The Indians are calling the ailment minor, but it's certainly a concern after the outfielder had surgery on the same hamstring last October. Bourn also has yet to attempt a stolen base this spring. Michael Brantley would surely shift over to center field if Bourn isn't ready.

Michael Bourn was removed from Sunday's Cactus League game against the Giants with mild tightness in his left hamstring. The Indians are saying that he was removed for precautionary reasons and that he'll be re-evaluated on Monday. For a player who derives a large portion of his value from his legs, any sign of hamstring trouble could be a big problem.

Michael Bourn went 2-for-3 against the D'Backs on Tuesday. Bourn singled twice, bumping his average up to .211. He hasn't had a great spring and he is still in search of his first extra-base hit. He stole 40-plus bases for five years running between 2008-12, but stole only 23 in 35 attempts last season, due in part to a .316 on-base percentage. Unless he can get on base more frequently, his days of being a top-tier base-stealer may be over.

Michael Bourn said Wednesday that his surgically-repaired left hamstring is 100 percent healthy. Bourn had the hamstring surgery in mid-October and only needed about 4-6 weeks of rehab. The 31-year-old outfielder batted just .263/.316/.360 with six homers and 23 stolen bases in 130 games last season for the Indians and will be looking to bounce back in 2014.

Michael Bourn underwent minor surgery on his left hamstring Tuesday morning. Bourn apparently hurt his hamstring in the final game of the regular season. He's expected to begin his offseason training in about 4-6 weeks, so he should be ready for the start of spring training. Bourn, who turns 31 in December, batted .263/.316/.360 with six home runs, 50 RBI, and 23 stolen bases in 130 games this season in his first year of a four-year, $48 million contract.
