Taylor got the start in left field on Tuesday, but went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts. He's likely to get the bulk of the playing time in left while Jayson Werth (wrist) is on the DL, but Taylor's .238/.289/.417 slash line and 33 K's in 84 at-bats are a good sign that you shouldn't expect much production out of the rookie while he's starting.

Taylor entered Wednesday's game in place of an ejected Bryce Harper and hit a game-winning grand slam off Diamondbacks closer Addison Reed in the ninth inning. Taylor doesn't get a lot of playing time, but he's been pretty productive when he has, having tallied three homers, 13 RI and three steals in just 71 at-bats this year. Unfortunately, without a regular spot in the Nationals' lineup, his value is largely limited to NL-only and keeper leagues.

Taylor is not in the lineup Monday against the Diamondbacks, Mark Zuckerman of CSN reports. Taylor notched the start in center field Sunday as Denard Span rested, but he'll return to the bench after going 1-for-3 with two strikeouts Sunday. On the season, Taylor is 18-for-68 (.265) at the dish with nine RBI and 26 strikeouts.

Taylor will start in center field Sunday against the Braves, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports. Taylor will get his third start in five games with left-hander Alex Wood on the mound for Atlanta. The young center fielder will give manager Matt Williams a slightly better matchup than Denard Span, who is 2-for-13 in his career against Wood.

Taylor will make a second straight start in left field on Wednesday and bat eighth. Jayson Werth is struggling right now, so Taylor will get the nod once again. The rookie is hitting a relatively modest .258/.303/.452 in 62 at-bats this season and went 0-for-3 with a walk and two K's on Tuesday, but Taylor has a potentially more favorable matchup on Wednesday against Marlins hurler Tom Koehler.

Taylor is in the lineup for Friday's game against the Mets. With Denard Span injured, Taylor will take over center field, and hit leadoff in Friday's game. Though hitting first will allow him to maximize his at-bats, Taylor has hit just .194 from the leadoff spot this season, and will also be facing Mets ace Matt Harvey.

Taylor was officially recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday. It was already announced that Taylor would be added to the 25-man roster, so the recall comes as no surprise. The team placed Reed Johnson on the 15-day DL in a corresponding move, leaving Taylor as the primary backup at all three outfield spots.

Taylor will likely be recalled by the Nationals in the near future, according to James Wagner of the Washington Post. The Nationals have not commented on Taylor's status, but he is joining the team in Atlanta on Wednesday, so it seems he will take the roster spot of Reed Johnson, who is out indefinitely after suffering a foot injury Tuesday. Taylor saw regular action for the Nationals for the first couple weeks of the season, but if he is indeed called up, he will play a part-time role this time around with Denard Span healthy.

Taylor has been optioned to Triple-A Syracuse. With Denard Span coming off the DL to take over center field duties, the Nationals elected to send Taylor down to get regular playing time. In 12 games this season with Washington, he hit .271/.314/.500 with two home runs and two steals, but also struck out 19 times in 51 at-bats.

Taylor went 2-for-4 Tuesday with three RBI and his second stolen base of the season. Hitting ninth instead of leadoff may have taken some pressure off the rookie, but despite the good performance Taylor still struck out for the 12th time in eight games. Denard Span is ahead of schedule in his recovery from core muscle surgery, but Taylor should still get another week or so in the starting lineup.
