Carlos Sanchez therefore gets the start and will bat ninth. There may come a time this year when Johnson is entrusted to start against all pitchers, but apparently we're not there yet.

Johnson has been named the Opening Day starter at second base, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports. Johnson seems to be earning respect fast at the big league level, which can at least be partially attributed to a spring in which he slashed .339/.391/.475 in 59 at-bats. He's now officially beaten Carlos Sanchez out for the job, and projects to be a fixture in the White Sox lineup until further notice. The 24-year-old may not bring much power to the table, but should be a steady source of steals at the middle infield position, provided he can continue to get on base in the majors.

There is little time left in camp for Johnson to lose the role to Carlos Sanchez, who may still make the club as a utility player. If the current status holds, then Johnson should provide fantasy owners with good speed, even if he does bat ninth in the White Sox's order.
