Johnson (wrist) will undergo surgery Friday to repair a fractured wrist.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson injured his wrist Tuesday, and although his initial x-rays came back clean, it seems that a much bigger issue was present than initially thought. He was in the running for a bench spot with Atlanta, but now he'll need to start the season on the disabled list and likely will cede that final reserve role to Emilio Bonifacio. A firmer timetable for Johnson's return should come out after he goes through with the operation.

Johnson (wrist) will undergo an MRI to further evaluate the extent of his injury, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
X-ray results have already come back clean, but the team feels additional tests should provide a better prognosis. Johnson is battling for a bench role with Emilio Bonificacio, despite hitting just .222 through 36 at-bats this spring.

Johnson sprained his left wrist while making a diving catch in Tuesday's spring training game, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's a tough break for Johnson, who was battling it out for the final bench spot with Emilio Bonifacio. He's likely the underdog in the battle, as he is slashing just .206/.250/.353 in 14 games this spring, and it's unclear now if he'll get another shot to prove himself with the injury. He underwent X-rays that came back clean, so consider him day-to-day until the Braves update his status.

Johnson could be competing with Emilio Bonifacio for the final spot on the Braves' bench, Mike Nabors of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although he's primarily been a second baseman coming up through the minors, Johnson is taking extra reps in the outfield this spring as he attempts to make the transition to utility player. Bonifacio has plenty of experience in exactly that role, however, and Johnson's struggles at the plate so far -- he's hitting .182 (4-for-22) -- would seem to make him the underdog in the job battle. Whichever player breaks camp on the 25-man roster wouldn't see enough playing time to have real fantasy value, however.

Johnson was traded to the Braves on Friday for cash or a player to be named later.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson hasn't shown much to indicate that he can stick in the big leagues, but he should at least get a shot at a roster spot during spring training with the Braves. Johnson spent most of 2016 with the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City, where he put up a .677 OPS as a 25-year-old and was 26-for-37 on stolen bases. He has a .226/.299/.264 in 119 career major league plate appearances.

Johnson was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on Tuesday, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kenley Jansen's signing was formally announced and Johnson was bumped from the 40-man roster in a corresponding move. He will now be subjected to waivers. Johnson, now 26, was only able to muster a .261/.321/.356 line in 120 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City last season, bring his career line at the Triple-A level to .281/.336/.392.

The Dodgers recalled Johnson from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson will join the Dodgers for the stretch run following the conclusion of Oklahoma City's season. He posted a .677 OPS in the hitter-friendly PCL, so he will mainly be counted on for defensive depth at second base, and possibly in the outfield.

Johnson is batting .308/.345/.462 in July for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
EDGE Analysis
The forgotten man in the deal with the White Sox that also netted Trayce Thompson and Frankie Montas, the 25-year-old Johnson looks to be buried on the second base depth chart after the addition of Chris Taylor via trade. He's batting .261 with 17 steals on the year, but the possibility of him becoming a future starter seem dim.

Johnson, 25, is batting .317 with one home run, five RBI and two steals over his last 10 games for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
EDGE Analysis
The recent surge pushes Johnson's slash line to .260/.296/.320 for the season. He does have nine steals in 37 games, but has been caught six times as well. It appears his 84-steal season from 2013 is a thing of the past, though Johnson does still have 30-steal capability.

Johnson is batting just .233/.242/.283 for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
EDGE Analysis
After batting .315 in Triple-A last year with the White Sox, it's safe to say this qualifies as disappointing. He's obviously nowhere near getting the call.
