Moroff is out of the lineup against the Cubs on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Moroff will get a day off following three straight starts, going 5-for-13 with one home run and five RBI during those games. In his place, Sean Rodriguez draws the assignment at the keystone.

Moroff went 3-for-5 with a double, a solo home run, four RBI and two runs during Monday's win over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Moroff boasts an underwhelming .188/.267/.338 slash line through 91 plate appearances in the majors this season, but with Josh Harrison (hand) hitting the disabled list, the 24-year-old second baseman could see an uptick in playing time moving forward. Expectations should remain in check, but Moroff does boast modest upside after posting a .909 OPS with Triple-A Indianapolis this season.

Moroff will man second base and bat second Sunday against the Reds, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Pirates may have a permanent opening at the keystone with Josh Harrison hitting the disabled list Sunday with a fractured hand, and it appears Moroff will receive the first chance to fill the void. The 24-year-old switch hitter is batting just .155 over 82 plate appearances with the big club this season, but turned some heads at Triple-A Indianapolis with a .909 OPS. If Moroff is able to take on regular at-bats with the Pirates for the foreseeable future, it may be enough to help him tap into some of the on-base and power-hitting skills he demonstrated in the minors.

Moroff was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Moroff was summoned back to the big club to replace Francisco Cervelli, who was sent to the disabled list with left wrist inflammation. The 24-year-old, who has compiled a .145/.239/.210 slash line in 62 at-bats for the big club this season, doesn't figure to see much action in the Pirates' crowded infield.

Moroff was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday, Stephen J. Nesbitt of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the Pirates acquiring utility man Sean Rodriguez from the Braves on Saturday, Moroff simply had no place on the roster. In his limited opportunities this season, the infield prospect batted just .145 with two extra-base hits. He'll head back to the minors for more seasoning and will likely return when rosters expand in September.

Moroff went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during Sunday's win over St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
The youngster posted strong numbers at Triple-A Indianapolis with a .269/.385/.569 slash line before being recalled to the Pirates. Moroff hadn't had much success until Sunday and now owns an underwhelming .379 OPS with just five hits through 59 plate appearances. He also projects to continue seeing just semi-regular at-bats moving forward, so his fantasy value is capped.

Moroff went 0-for-3 with a walk in Thursday's 6-3 win over Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
Despite leading the International League with 13 homers at the time of his recall, Moroff has looked overmatched with Pittsburgh. The 24-year-old is slashing .095/.204/.119 in 49 plate appearances. It wouldn't be surprising to see him sent back to Triple-A if he doesn't soon find his batting stroke.

Moroff will start at second base and bat leadoff Wednesday against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Regular leadoff man and left-handed hitter Adam Frazier will take a seat with southpaw Blake Snell on the mound for the Rays, so Moroff will benefit from favorable positioning in the lineup while starting for the first time since June 22. Moroff is regarded as one of the better position prospects in the Pirates' system, but he's gotten off to a poor start to his big-league career, recording just three hits in 26 at-bats.

Moroff is 2-for-17 since being recalled from Triple-A at the beginning of June.
EDGE Analysis
Brought up mostly for infield depth, Moroff hasn't seen much action in a utility role for the Pirates. He's only appeared in 10 of of the team's 20 games, four times as a pinch hitter and once as a defensive replacement. He hit .269 in an everyday role with Triple-A Indianapolis, suggesting that the batting average should increase if he can ever find a way to gather more consistent playing time.

Moroff was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Gift Ngoepe and Alen Hanson were demoted after failing to produce for the Pirates, so Moroff was added to the big club to offer depth off the bench. He appeared in four games for the Pirates earlier in the season, going just 1-for-9 with four strikeouts. His stay in the majors could be short lived if he doesn't get his bat going.
