Harvey will start Opening Day, April 3 against the Royals for the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Terry Collins made that announcement Thursday. Collins could have gone with almost any of the team's starters but gave the nod to Harvey, who will end 2015 and begin 2016 facing the same opponent.

Harvey made his first start of the spring Tuesday, allowing one run on three hits and a walk with two strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
The main takeaway from Tuesday's outing was the continued explosion of Harvey's slider. That pitch was lacking at times last year during his initial return from Tommy John surgery. A year later, it has the nasty bite and velocity that was evident pre-surgery.

Manager Terry Collins said Monday that he doesn't anticipate any innings limit restrictions for Harvey in 2016.
EDGE Analysis
Innings limits were a major topic of conversation for Harvey, the Mets and his agent Scott Boras. Harvey ended up throwing 189.1 innings during the regular season, up from 178.1 in 2013 before Tommy John surgery, while also making four starts in the post-season. This news means that Harvey, barring injury, will not be skipped or shut down during the season.

Harvey agreed to a one-year, $4.325 million contract with the Mets on Friday, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harvey and the Mets were able to avoid going to arbitration by agreeing on an amount typical for a pitcher of his stature. With the Tommy John surgery now well behind him and contract issues out of the way, Harvey can now return his focuses to leading potentially the league's top starting rotation into 2016.

The Mets tendered contracts to all eight of their arbitration-eligible players, including Harvey, before Thursday's deadline, ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harvey will get a major spike in his salary, as he should make between $4.2-$4.7 million in 2016. He returned from October 2013 Tommy John surgery to post excellent numbers in 2015, A year further removed from the operation, Harvey should be even better in 2016.

Harvey will start Game 1 of the World Series at Kansas City on Tuesday, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harvey will head the Mets' rotation in the season-ending series, with Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, and Steven Matz to follow. If the series goes the distance, Harvey will also take the hill in Game 5 and could be available out of the bullpen for a deciding Game 7. In two starts (both victories) this postseason, he's allowed five runs (four earned) on 11 hits and four walks, while striking out 16 in 12.2 innings.

Harvey appears to be the favorite to start Game 1 of the World Series for the Mets, MLB.com's Anthony DiComo reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Terry Collins even alluded to the possibility that Harvey could pitch three times in the World Series, if necessary. This is pretty alarming considering that it wasn't long ago that Harvey's camp was talking about a potential shut down. It speaks to just how good Harvey has been this postseason -- 2.84 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 12.2 innings -- but it also speaks to how fatigued Jacob deGrom appears to be, according to Collins. If Harvey starts Game 1 deGrom will start Game 2.

Harvey appears likely to start Game 5 if necessary, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harvey was hammered by a come-backer in Game 1, but he managed to stay in the game and continue pitching. Some thought he might have his next scheduled start pushed back, but manager Terry Collins seemed to erase any doubt of that happening saying, "He looks like he'll be ready for Game 5." That decision will likely be finalized in the coming days, however, so stay tuned for more information.

Manager Todd Collins indicated Monday that Harvey is dealing with some swelling and soreness in his triceps, but is still scheduled to pitch Game 5 for the Mets at his point, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harvey was struck by a line drive in Game 1, but was able to continue pitching. However, it appears the issue hasn't completely disappeared, so there's a chance he could be scratched from the start. There's still a chance that the Mets could sweep the series, which would then leave an opportunity for Harvey to rest rather than pitch Game 5, but everything should sort itself out before that point is reached.

Harvey will receive the start for Game 1 of the NLDS against the Cubs on Saturday, Tyler Kepner of the New York Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harvey pitched just once in the NLDS due to an innings limit, but he will open up the NLCS series against the Cubs, facing Jon Lester. The 26-year-old was phenomenal in his first start of the postseason, striking out 11 and allowing just one unearned run over six innings. He'll look to build off that effort in Game 1 on Saturday.
