Harvey allowed three runs on seven hits while striking out five over four innings in Wednesday's win over the Giants. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Like in his debut start with Cincinnati last week, Harvey only made it through four innings as he continues to get stretched out to a full workload following a bullpen stint while still with the Mets. It was a bit of a mixed bag in this one, as Harvey displayed strong command (55 strikes on 77 pitches and no walks), but he allowed four extra-base hits including a home run. He could be worth monitoring going forward, but it's still too early to know which version of Harvey has arrived in Cincinnati. He'll take his next start Tuesday against the Pirates.

Harvey will join the Reds' rotation and start Friday against the Dodgers, John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
The newly acquired Harvey won't have to wait long to make his Reds debut as he'll toe the rubber just days after being sent over from the Mets. Harvey pitched his way out of the Mets' rotation earlier this season after notching a 6.0 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP through four starts, and his time coming out of the bullpen didn't net positive results, either. Harvey's fastball velocity has also tailed off this season, dropping from nearly 94 miles per hour in 2017 to 92.6. He'll be making his Reds debut in a pitcher-friendly park against a Dodgers' lineup that's been inconsistent to start the year.

Reds GM Dick Williams said Tuesday that he expects Harvey to join the rotation, but no final decision has been made, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
After the Mets DFA'd Harvey, the Reds swung a deal to bring the right-hander to Cincinnati. It's an ambitious reclamation project for the Reds, who will hope to rebuild Harvey's value over the next two and a half months and get something for him at the trade deadline. Harvey threw a 60-pitch bullpen session Tuesday and could theoretically start a game this weekend in Los Angeles. Brandon Finnegan seems the most likely candidate to lose his rotation spot if Harvey does indeed step into a starting role.

Harvey was traded from the Mets to the Reds on Tuesday in exchange for Devin Mesoraco and cash.
EDGE Analysis
Harvey has found a new home after being designated for assignment by the Mets over the weekend. The 29-year-old struggled as both a starter and reliever this season, compiling an unsightly 7.00 ERA and 1.56 WHIP across 27 innings (eight appearances, four starts). He's expected to join the Reds during their upcoming road trip against the Dodgers this weekend. Cincinnati will likely start him out in the bullpen, though there's a chance he works his way into the rotation if he pitches well in relief.

Harvey was designated for assignment Saturday, Matt Ehalt of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Harvey was cast off the roster after refusing an assignment to the minors. His ERA sits at 7.00 through 27 innings, though some team will likely take a chance on him in hopes that he can recover some of the talent that made him an ace in the first three years of his career before he was struck with thoracic outlet syndrome.

Harvey will be designated for assignment Saturday after refusing an assignment to the minors, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's all gone wrong for Harvey this season. He was demoted to the bullpen after a rocky first four starts and now has a 7.00 ERA, in line with the 6.70 figure he posted last season. His 4.52 xFIP suggests that he's getting unlucky, but even if his ERA fell down to that number he wouldn't be a particularly valuable pitcher. He exercised his right to refuse a further demotion and will now presumably end up with a new organization within a few days, either as a result of trade or a waiver claim. If he finds an organization willing to let him start, he may have enough left in the tank to be an effective back-end starter, but his fantasy value has likely never been lower.

Harvey coughed up five runs on three hits and three walks over two innings of relief Thursday while striking out one in an 11-0 loss to the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
The big blow was a three-run homer by Ozzie Albies, but Harvey had trouble just getting the ball into the strike zone, much less hitting his spots, as he threw only 18 of 39 pitches for strikes. The right-hander had been mentioned recently as a possible replacement for one of the Mets' injured or ineffective starters, but Thursday's outing made it clear Harvey has a long way to go before he can be entrusted with a significant role on the staff again.

Harvey allowed one run on two hits and a walk over two innings while striking out two in Tuesday's extra-inning win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Zack Wheeler got an early hook, giving manager Mickey Callaway an opportunity to bring Harvey on in a fairly low-leverage situation as the right-hander made his first appearance since being moved to the bullpen. His 5.87 ERA and 1.43 WHIP look messy, but Harvey's 19:5 K:BB in 23 innings this season give some hope that he could earn another shot at the rotation if he's able to straighten things out in long relief.

Harvey will head to the bullpen, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Jason Vargas soon to return from his broken hand, the Mets needed to remove someone from the rotation. Harvey is the odd man out after posting a 6.00 ERA through his first four starts. His underlying numbers are perfectly respectable, though; he has a 3.61 xFIP, striking out a mediocre 18.1 percent of batters but walking just 4.3 percent. There's a good chance that he'll eventually get another opportunity to start, and if his results start to match his peripherals, he could have a solid season. For now, though, he'll have to prove himself as a member of the Mets' bullpen.

Manager Mickey Callaway said Thursday that he hasn't decided whether Harvey will make his next start, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harvey was hit hard again Thursday as he fell to 0-2 on the season, surrendering six earned runs on eight hits. He was touched up for three doubles and a home run and was outdueled by Matt Wisler, who the Braves called up earlier in the day. Harvey's first outing of the year -- five shutout innings with one hit -- seems like a distant memory after three consecutive shoddy outings with at least four runs allowed and at least eight hits surrendered. His next turn in the rotation is scheduled for Wednesday in St. Louis, but there will be some deliberation before then as to who will be taking the mound for the Mets.
