The veteran right-hander had a rough start to the 2018 season with the Mets but looked significantly better after being traded to the Reds, posting a 4.24 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and 111:28 K:BB over 24 starts (128 innings).

Harvey didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Cubs, allowing four hits and a walk over six scoreless innings while striking out six.

He still salvaged what was his first quality start in three appearances, though he was stuck with the loss as Trevor Williams fired 6.2 scoreless opposite him. Harvey will carry a 4.95 ERA into his next start, which will come at home against the Padres.

Harvey didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 13-12 extra-inning loss to the Brewers, surrendering five runs on 11 hits over four-plus innings while striking out six.

After giving up two runs in the first inning, Harvey seemed to settle down until the wheels completely came off in the fifth as the Brewers got to him for five straight hits -- including a Christian Yelich homer -- to chase him from the game. Fortunately for Harvey's final line, Sal Romano was able to escape the bases-loaded, no-out jam he inherited without allowing a run to score. Despite that bit of good luck, Harvey will still carry a 4.97 ERA into his next outing Monday in Pittsburgh.

Harvey allowed one run on five hits and one walk while striking out six over 5.1 innings as he didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Cubs.

Harvey gave up just one run in the sixth inning before exiting with the ballgame tied 1-1. He tossed 49 of 83 pitches for strikes. The 29-year-old has looked sharp throughout his previous three outings, as he's tossed 18.2 frames and recorded 18 punchouts while allowing just three runs. Harvey will look to keep it rolling his next turn through the rotation, which is slated for Thursday against Milwaukee.

Harvey was not traded and remains the Reds' scheduled starter for Friday's game against the Cubs, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Brewers put in a claim on Harvey but the two sides did not work out a trade within the allotted time frame. Harvey has been close to a league-average starter since joining Cincinnati (96 ERA+), but he's had five- and eight-run blowups recently and makes for a risky option against the first-place Cubs.
