Williams (knee) took batting practice Friday and hopes to make his Grapefruit League debut next week, YES Network reports.

Inflammation in his patellar tendon has kept the 25-year-old out of commission so far this spring, but a return to the lineup seems to be on the horizon. Williams has an uphill climb ahead of him if he wants to make the major league roster (especially given his absence to start the spring), but he could push the envelope with a strong showing once he does return.
